Today's sesh was kind of a jumping back and forth through some older folders supplemented with a big grip of new stuff acquired in the last week. Some key tracks I used to play a couple of years ago that I kinda forgot about made an appearance. Started mellow and deep but rolling, moved through some chunky amen liquid into some jungle and atmospheric sounds halfway. Bio
Tally G (San Diego), behind the decks off and on for the past two decades, is known
for her diversity as a (mostly) drum and bass DJ, seamlessly blending jungle,
footwork, juke, and neurofunk, among other subgenres, most notably deep, dark,
techy minimal DnB. Every set is a journey, told through a combination of long,
thoughtful transitions, skillfully quick mixing, and energetic double drops guaranteed
to get bodies moving and gun fingers popping. She is one half of Hologynic and one
half of Tex n Bass. She holds residencies with Boomslang Recordings (USDNB), Siren
Project (NYC), Proper Chicago, The Distinguished (CO), Syncopation (AZ), and THC Kru
(USDNB) and is the co-founder of El Paso’s DNBtherapy Drum and Bass. Tally G is also
on the board of directors for Siren Project, an all female-identifying collective
dedicated to providing safe spaces for trans-, non-binary, and cis-women performers
who raise funds for various nonprofit organizations. She has played around the United
States and is currently learning music production.

With very little time to prep for this sesh I just wanted to make sure I got in some new music that came out this week. Overall I relied on some tried and true older tracks to fill in the cracks and tried to just keep things rolling along. I'm still in my "experimentation with dancefloor DNB" phase as I'm trying to get in the mindset for some outside summer festival sets — I pushed it into that big room soaring vibe towards the end.
