The String Mesh

I've got a new Session from the String Series for you guys this week. It's something special and a little different from my usual mixes. I've put a lot of time and effort into putting this one together. There's a bit of Liquid, some Downtempo, Electronica, a nice section of Atmospheric, some Jungle and a sprinkling of transitional tracks to help meld together the  different sub-genres and BPM's. I put it together to kind of play like a movie from start to finish. Like I said, it's a bit different, some may like it some may not but I enjoyed the process of creating it and I hope you enjoy the ride of listening.

Sw3rv3 _String Series III Key To Life

Finally got the time to put a new Session together for you guys and gals out there, hope you dig it. A little bit of Liquid on the first half starting us off with some nice vocal tracks and a groovy incoming joint from the homie Duoscience. Then we delve into some dope new Atmospheric tunes featuring a few nice ones from the Codename:RCRDS crew, TRC2, and big homie Mineral, and finally we wrap up the hour long journey with a ten minute ride through some throwback dark & jungly, drum heavy tunes from Jack Rapture.

Sw3rv3 _Fever Dream

Greetings Sound Stream Sessions listeners, dj's, artists and producers. We appreciate your support of the page over the years, giving us ears to listen to the music we put together and being the lifeblood of this culture we all find such enjoyment in being a part of.

I wanted to give you all something different this time as well as challenge myself to create something new, 'a bit of a break from the norm' if you will. This session started as something completely different in my head, different title, tracks, vibe etc. I put together some nice bits and pieces, using some Electronica tunes seasoned with different samples from movies, documentaries and classic hip hop but the overall vibe just wouldn't come together. Under advice from council (lol) I decided to just 'Lean in to the weirdness'. So that's what I did and this is what came out.

It's a Spacey intro featuring a rendition of Einstein drawing us in to the trip, After that Jazz and Funk vibes start us off with an abstract tone, followed by tracks ranging from dark to vibrant, atmospheric to experimental, with a different angle on mixing here, focusing more on ambient and smooth transitions, sometimes changing vibes abruptly. I know I'm taking a bit of a chance on this one but hey, that's where true creativity comes from right. 

Anyways, hope you dig it. Intended to be more of an experience than a traditional mix. Taking Inspiration and blend style from the Electronica and Hip Hop Realms.

Abstract Series _01 (Sw3rv3) 'Synthetic Rebellion'

I've got another session for you guys and gals to check out, it's a wide reaching mix with plenty of depth and flavor. Ranging from vocal and lyricist centered tunes to rollers, liquid, atmospheric, and amen with some darker undertones. This was a freestyle session I laid down last night, actually was planning to just relax and take it easy but some situations with the AC got me aggravated so I decided to take that energy out on the decks and I'm glad I did. Some long mixes and some quick mixing with a pretty wide selection of track types. Starts off with a dope tune from Drs and Bou off the B-Sides Mixtape which drops off into another smooth major key track called Homecoming from Above & Beyond, both tracks compliment each other well and set the frame for this section of the mix. It's a storytelling style session which is my creative sweet spot and the type of mixing I enjoy the most. Anyways, it was fun to lay down and I'm not so worried about that AC anymore..Haha
