As we hit the years midway point, Deersky’s Soundteller Records presents Volume 15 of their ‘Vibrant Vibeland’ series. Conceptualized in 2014, the various artist collections have become a much anticipated part of the Polish imprint’s release schedule, while also being a favourite amongst progressive music fans looking to discover new talent and the genre’s future stars. Already notching two new editions across 2021, the series now embarks on it’s fifteenth installment with sixteen new tracks that cover all corners of the globe. Although the label has trended towards organic house on many of it’s recent releases, the latest Vibrant Vibeland returns to the label’s roots of progressive house and melodic house and techno. Returning from a short hiatus, Deersky’s Soundteller Records welcomes Radieux back to the label for a new single. With well over a decade’s worth of DJ experience, Slovenian born artist Radieux has been a fixture at some of the world’s premiere clubs and festivals, sharing the stage with John Digweed, Nick Warren, Solomun and more. Upon creating the Radieux alias in 2019, Artessa Music and Chrom Recordings served as initial landing spots for his melodic club-friendly sound. Fast forward to 2023 and the first six months of year have proved to be the most prolific of Radieux’s career, notching projects for Beat Boutique, Eat My Hat and Soundteller, the latter of which served as a home for his March offering ‘Here Comes The Storm’. Now, making a welcome return to the label, Radieux unveils his latest studio creation ‘Waterfalls and Us’, alongside remixes from Gai Barone and Kamilo Sanclemente & Mauro Aguirre.

Continuing to showcase his great dancefloor sensibilities, Radieux’s ‘Waterfalls and Us’ finds that perfect balance between groove and melody. A muscular low end serves as the foundation for bright percussive arrangements, evolving arps and a gorgeous piano-like lead which serves as a transition into the main break. Coming to full emotional fruition as the centrepiece evolves, melodies converge and textures emerge, perfectly setting up a flurry of drums and smooth key changing finale.

The remixes delivery nicely as well with one of the progressive scenes leading lights Gai Barone turning in another hugely memorable production. The Italian artist leaves something to the imagination here, opting for a dreamier approach which makes great use of texture and colour to create an evolving atmospheric storyboard atop punchy beats and buoyant percussive arrangements. Definitely one for the clued up progressive floors out there.

Rounding out the release with the final remix is Kamilo Sanclemente & Mauro Aguirre who continue to collaboration with great success. The Colombian duo aim squarely at a peak-hour dance floor with full grooves, rolling rhythms and a haunting harmonic topline which marries well with the electric lines below. Looking to keep energy high throughout, the main break is concise, serving to build tension quickly, before a final assault of supersonic synths caps off this epic offering from Soundteller in fine style. Highly recommended.

Echo Daft - Chasing the Birds [Soundteller Records]

The latest from Deersky’s Soundteller Records welcomes Andy King to the label for his debut single. The UK artist lays claim to a meticulous discography highlighted by releases on BCSA, Proton Music and Stripped Digital. After capping off a successful 2019 with a release on Solarstone’s Pure Progressive imprint, Andy now debuts on Soundteller with ‘Hemisphere’ alongside remixes from Eric Lune and Monojoke.

Always surfing the genre barriers with an effortless ease, Andy explores his pure progressive roots on ‘Hemisphere’. Beautifully designed, it’s tough galloping beats play off shimmering arps and spacey sweeps across the first act, before eventually melting down into a tranquil break. Creating tension with each successive loop, ghostly wails drift across the framework, as muted rhythms gently rumble below. Cosmic synths then steal air at opportune moments, washing away the atmosphere into a rush of beats and percussion for a powerful finale.

Fresh off a stunning remix for Stellar Fountain, it’s Eric Lune who provides the first interpretation of ‘Hemisphere’. The Australian artist remains one of the progressive scenes fasting rising stars and his uncanny knack for crafting feel good melodies continues here. Clocking in at nearly ten minutes in length, it’s soulful strums, playful musicality and buoyant groove are joyous to say the least. Not lost in this is are dynamic moments though, particularly during the main break. Complete with striking electronics and impassioned harmonics, it serves as the ideal centrepiece for this epic journey.

Rounding out the release and providing the second and final interpretation of ‘Hemisphere’ is label artist Monojoke. Returning for his 10th appearance, the Polish artist follows his hit ‘Neon Desert’ from September of last year with a superb remix here. Drawing on the sensibilities of the original the Cracow resident adds layer after layer of melodic colour. It’s this trademark sound which has made him such a huge favourite amongst progressive house fans, and with a truly exhilarating break it really does round the release out on a massive note. Big time stuff from Monojoke and a beautiful release from Deersky’s Soundteller Records. Highly recommended.
