This short track started with playing with some hand clap samples and a couple of hours later ended up being this!  Can't say I've ever deliberately used a Persian Scale before, but I think it works here.

Had a huge amount of fun and trips down musical memory lanes with this one: one of the most fun projects I think I've ever done!

I'd received quite a few messages asking if there was a full version of the tune I made for Professional Mountain Biker Olly Wilkins (@odub_23) so I decided to put one together using lots of iconic samples from the late 80s and 90s.  Not sure if it'll be up here for long, but enjoy it while it's here.

Yeah, you can't really call it an ambient soundscape anymore... but he approves!

This is a song I wrote about a person's struggles with their inner demons that we may or may not always be aware of (The Hidden) and finding a way through.

A kind of liquid drum and bass tune I created for the intro sequence to a video build series for an annual large Mountain Bike Free-ride event in South Africa.  Such was the positive reception for the twenty second-ish piece of music, I thought I'd make it into a full tune.  So here that is!

An idea that sort of morphed its way into existence from playing around with some filtered synth sounds and reflected a kind of calm, pleasant and peaceful mood, yet with some dark undertones.  It's a bit of a remix really, given the source of the vocal, although its quite a long way from the original...

I first wrote the main electric piano hook for this song several years ago and discovered it again not too long ago.  I liked the 5/4 time signature and floaty feel of it so thought I'd see what I could do with it.  Like a few of my tunes of late, I suppose it could be classed as a 'remix' given the source of the vocal lines, but I don't think my version here sounds much (at all!) like the original...

Rare studio time together with @Bleeptwig created this monster of a remix.  The combination of Bleeptwig's analogue machine genius and my use of beats, keys and structure resulted in what you are listening to.  Some of the most fun I've had for a long, long time.

Lost in Crowds

I like creating music in five four time, and this idea seemed to work.

The idea of being trapped in a loop of common time is something I try and get away from every now and then.  

Trapped... In a loop.

People often find themselves trapped in a loop; repeating the same actions, thoughts, and routines day after day without question. This cycle can feel safe, but it quietly stifles change and growth. Breaking the loop doesn’t require a major shift. The loop only stays closed if we never push against its edges, and pushing once might be all it takes to find a new path.

I come from a background of classical music (I played the French Horn in different orchestras, and also learnt the piano,) I spent a LOT of time in dark techno clubs growing up and have always loved jazz...  I suppose this all shoves together to make the kind of music I come up with...!
