Jenifa Mayanja and Dakini9 (aka Lola) are back with the third installment on their label Sound Warrior, this time with two new artists beginning to make a name for themselves in the underground electronic music scene. 
Jay Mond is a Spanish transplant to Berlin, Germany. Her eclectic, mature sound belies her youth, as she combines tough drum programming with jagged synths on “Green Adventures.” Jenifa Mayanja turns in a classic example of her sound on “Wide Awake,” complete with Jenifa vocal samples, soulful keys, and a rolling arrangement culminating in a deep dance floor experience. 
Lilith, from Los Angeles, CA opens the B side with “Shadow Boxing,” a tracky affair with swooping risers, punchy kicks, and moody chords. Dakini9 closes the EP with “NRG & Power,” a sample-driven night light deep house jam.
Sound Warrior Recordings is dedicated to promoting and releasing music by female electronic music producers. 


Sound Warrior 003 "The Warriors Gather"

Sound Warrior Records founded by Jenifa Mayanja & Dakini 9 aims to balance the playing field for women in electronic music by exclusively releasing music made by them & showcasing their talent.
Sound Warrior 005 “Warrior Loves” touches upon the cornerstones of underground house&techno. Original lush flourishes, expertly crafted with hard hitting beats dominate this release. 
Featured Sound Warriors on this release, Cherushii (Chelsea Faith) who this album is in memory of & tribute to showcases her immense talent for instrumentation and precise beat weaponry on “No Doubt” & “Milk of Paradise”. Aurora Halal co- founder of the NYC festival “Sustain Release” and a sought after dj/live performer does not hesitate to subdue with her dubby techno on “Twilight”. 
Berlin based artist/live performer Daniela La Luz whose work was recently featured on Moodyman's K7 dj mix &releases on the HOUSEWAX label drops her take of soul infused techno on “Viva La Vida”. North Carolina artist Lady Fingers may seem new to some audiences but she has spent over 15 years in the biz with releases on Trax records and more recently a house romper on Activ-Analog. Here with “To Be With You” she brings her signature sample infused house.  Montreal based artist CMD counts releases on Fur Trade Records and was featured in a FACT magazine “mix of the month” for  Jacktone Radio. Her track” Revere” gets right down to a mix of electro/techno all her own.  LA based producer Lilith most recent release was on Ante Recordings but she has been slinging those hard hitting beats for a while and leaves no room for discussion on “Vital Signs”.  Longtime producer/dj Jenifa Mayanja, runs Bumako Recordings and is known for her signature organic infused house with releases on select labels and a 3rd album dropping in May 2017. With “Warrior Strutt” the anthem wraps up neatly the instrumentation side of the warriors.  New comer Avalele is a visual artist & runs her own imprint White Spiral and on “Unbeaten” shows great promise as someone to watch.

Sound Warrior records is once again proud to welcome another warrior to our family. In celebration of our latest release SW 006 "Formulation" we continue our tradition of outstanding dj mixes. This time the mix is from Ena Lind whose track "High and Over" appears on SW 006. Here she describes her mix for us:
Tell us about your mix for Sound warrior
Generally my sets are rather eclectic and more on the happier end - I also stuck to feel-good music for the mix for Sound Warrior. The sun just came out in Berlin when I started working this mix - which you can probably hear in the choices I made… :)

Sound Warrior Ena Lind Mix

Vinyl label releasing music by female house & techno producers who are also DJs and/or live performers. Founded by DJ/producers Jenifa Mayanja, owner of Bu-Mako Recordings, and Lola aka Dakini9, co-owner of Plan B Recordings. Both are seasoned veterans in the music industry with over 25 years of collective experience.
