Abaporu é um dos nomes que percorre pelas pistas de house music de Santa Catarina. Dos clássicos ao moderno, busca trazer sets que despertam a sede pelo fervo com muitos ritmos ricos em detalhes e coloridos. Buscando versatilidade e uma musicalidade mais híbrida, não se apega a gêneros mas procura sempre fluir entre o house e disco com pitadas de synths mais contemporâneos e muita musica brasileira.

Sobre o mix: Atualmente estou numa fase mais "moderna" dos meus sons, porem ainda sou muito apegados aos clássicos que me fizeram um apaixonado pelas pistas, então busquei trazer um meio termo: músicas modernas que tivessem claras referências aos clássicos. Achei alguns discos com uma musicalidade mais atual, com menos ruídos e um som mais clean porém preservando os sopros populares que agitavam as pistas das discotecas 80tistas. Fazia um tempo que eu buscava oportunidade de tocas algumas músicas desse set, pela primeira vez eu sinto que conseguir manter o conceito "Abaporu" ao mesmo tempo que testava sonoridades novas que atualmente me atraem, espero que curtam o mix da mesma forma que eu curti produzindo-o.

Releasing on labels such as Moan Recordings, hedZup Records and Whippin' Records, The Mekanism is a high class studio talent with a great understanding of the roots of house and plenty of his own innovative ideas. He combines those to great effect once more here.

This Is My Day is timeless house music with an irresistibly slinky groove. The perfect hi hats and catchy drums are overlaid with Mr V's vocal musings which draw you in deep and add plenty of genuine soul. The chord vamps keep on heating the beats and subtle filters keep things dynamic. This is textbook French house music that also comes as a dub and acapella.

The Mekanism proves why he is one of the new school house tastemakers with this latest standout offering.

PREMIERE: Everything But The Girl - Caution To The Wind (Di Saronno Edit)

Canadian house purveyor and Robsoul regular, Vincent Caira, returns to the fold with Jet Fuel Gelato - a funk soaked, uplifting house number that nods to the past while being perfectly assembled for all modern dancefloors.

Named after the strain of THC-soaked bud, the track takes the listener on a wonky-disco workout with a phat bottom end and oscillating effects that create the perfect hazy atmosphere for the late-night dancefloor.

Rich Wakely drops the superb Underdog EP on SOUP NYC: two sterling house cuts with sublime remixes from Skapes, Joeski and Zenbi. 

Whether it’s topping the Beatport charts, releasing on labels like Avotre, Suara, Lost and Roush or blasting out sets all over the world, Rich Wakely’s mix of solid beats and infectious grooves is receiving plaudits the world over.

As a producer and label manager, he has crafted many chart-topping hits, received continual BBC Radio 1 airplay and helping to launch a multitude of careers, while recent releases on OFF, Definition, Mile End and Resonance – bolstered by remixes from the likes of Darius Syrossian and Jamie Trench – have established Rich Wakely as a force to be reckoned with. 

With latest release is Underdog EP: another winning two-tracker dropping on SOUP NYC with a heavyweight remix package. 

As with many Rich Wakely productions, the title track is built around a solid, infectious groove and frenetic hats, eventually giving way to a sizzling synth line in the break. Wake and Bake rolls along on another chunky groove, with hard-hitting drums and whispered vocals lending a sinister edge to proceedings. 

Remixes come from the UK’s Skapes, NYC legend Joeski and SOUP resident Zenbi. Skapes adds a huge, amorphous bassline to Underdog, while Joeski enhances the tension already present in Wake & Bake, creating a deep, chugging, menacing house cut.  Completing the package, Zenbi adds a twisted groove to Wake and Bake with clattering percussion and huge drops creating a main room masterpiece.
