Preceding the release of his next full length album, Dutchman Conforce has selected four tracks to release as the Dystopian Elements EP. But don’t let the title fool you because, as is often the case with Boris Bunnik, there is a warm analogue/digital harmony to his sounds which is more than worthy of its place on Delsin.

First is ‘Luminous’ where a tantalising deep house tempo looks to the future with its clean synths and sci-fi atmospheres. Serene yet purposeful, it moves forwards where next track ‘Desolate Ground’ prefers to tread water – languishing in plenty of lateral chords and yet more deft but devilish detail for its dubbed-out entirety. Sparse and spare, yes, but warm and enveloping at the same time.

‘Lonely Run’ again mines a cerebral vein, but one with a muted acid bassline and a heightened sense of edginess thanks to the exquisitely designed sounds and surfaces on show. ‘Vacuum’ is the most dancefloor, with tight hi-hat rotations and a muffled, muted bassline all seemingly trying to surface from the depths of a deep dark ocean. Overall it’s subtle, expansive and dub-wise stuff that oozes with genuine class and real restraint.

As usual from Delsin, expect a limited edition colour vinyl run for the real collectors to enjoy.

'The obscure figure' is a choral work in which the producer from Cantabria takes a chance on futuristic, sensitive and abyssal electronics. It is as deep, minimalistic and ambient as is intelligent and sophisticatedly clubbing when required. We are facing a record which seeks for, overall,  auditory dreaminess, which craves for the listener’s reaction to the impact, or the cuddle from every beat on their inside. Pablo’s production is meticulous, velvety, it seems perfectly tempered. Sometimes, he lets himself go with the mild darkness of the summery twilight and some other times he dances to the sound of hopeful Autumn sunsets, both synthetic and flashing. No wonder, Bolívar keeps on deepening down the soul of his signature sound - which goes from house and  techno to IDM and dub, always from a deep approach- and which plays, experiments and enjoys along places he only knows but we all indulge in.

Lithuania’s Greyscale returns this December with Ohrwert’s ‘Fidelis / Blavus’, backed with remixes from XDB and grad_u. 

Greyscale was launched in 2012 by Lithuanian producer and DJ grad_u, and photographer Rima Prusakova, set up as a platform for material from grad_u and close friends whilst Prusakova’s black and white analogue photography provides the visual identity of the label. 

The original mix of ‘Blavus’ opens the EP, perfectly setting the tone with murky, ethereal atmospherics, billowing dub echoes, modulating percussion and thunderous drums before DubTechno stalwart XDB strips things back a little with soft touches of the originals airy drones 
tucked away in the depths whilst choppy stabs and dynamically unfolding analogue rhythms wander throughout. 

The second original from Ohrwert opens the flip-side, upping the energy levels slightly with hooky stab-sequences, filtered delays and hypnotic melodies running alongside a sturdy percussive foundation. Lastly to round out the release grad_u reworks ‘Blavus’ into a more 
groove-driven workout, employing shuffled hats, looped dub chords and bumpy sub-bass hits throughout.

‘Paul’s Horizon’ – @Ryan-Elliott’s first EP in six years – falls musically between Berlin and Detroit, between house and techno and between hypnotic repetition and unpredictability, revealing a subtle ear for groove and composition.

It’s the DJ’s perspective that has informed the Berghain / Panorama Bar resident's own analogue productions, with ‘Paul’s Horizon’ turning its focus toward deep and slick percussion. This is apparent from the get-go, with the title track’s triangle/clap interplay, funky 5-6 kicks per bar, and bleary-eyed atmosphere. From there “Martinsville Morning” slows down into an understated sunrise groover, led by bassline, strings and pads. EP closer “Grafton Road” turns up the pace again with gasps for hats, aggressive punctuating snares, and a modulating synth bubbling-up throughout.
