Roulé has forever marked the history of the French Touch movement with a simple ideology, also specific to Daft Punk: let the music speak for itself. Energy, emotion, simplicity. The mantra of Roulé.

Some of its releases are still played by many DJs today. Think about "Music Sounds Better With You" from Stardust or "Together" from DJ Falcon and M. Thomas Bangalter himself.

We asked @mr-julss, one of the best Parisian DJs in activity, to make us a retrospective on the decks of the most beautiful releases of the label.

Reposting a mix I did during RMCO for the lovely people at Saturday Selects. Being in lockdown has its ups and down - I love being able to collaborate or produce mixes for our local scene! It's really quite different from playing a set in the clubs because sometimes I find myself accommodating to the line up or the club's sound. 

A lot of times I find it hard to describe my preferred sound but I waft in and out of electronic, disco remixes, house and techno. Mostly happy, uplifting sounds I imagine myself dancing to at the start of the night or when the sun comes up at a festival. 

I hope you enjoy this little mix i put together and I hope it makes you smile and bob around as it does for me as I type this sitting here in my ridiculously bright office :)

SOURCE CLUB: FANTASIA

No stranger to the local Malaysian underground scene, Mister Rodrigo (FKA The Mutual Collective). Currently based between Kuala Lumpur and Orlando, he is heavily impacted by the working-class culture of his hometown and his music explores the roots of house and techno with a focus on breakbeat and garage. Having founded his digital creative studio, Wax Tropical Studios in 2020, he strives to produce music that has a raw feeling to it with taste of the nostalgic sound that represents himself as an artist.

Merging his love of genres within the electronic music sphere, Mister Rodrigo kicks off his new chapter as a producer that takes him back to his roots in the UK with an EP that explores a genre that’s timeless, Garage. The first track on the EP merges a catchy chord progression with the signature Garage percussions and raw vocals that define the direction of the EP. The second track is a dub mix that brings out Mister Rodrigo’s darker side with a heavier modular pattern that is guaranteed to be a cut that explodes the dance floor! We round off the EP with a remix from one of Kuala Lumpur’s rising electronic producers, Analog K, that gives the original track a disco-infused flavour with a groovy bass line that’s going to keep you dancing!
