With our 15th release on Earthly Measures, we do something a bit different as we welcome Panamanian artist Novad to the EM family for a 5 track tropical EP all available for free download !

With Káyira, Novad offers us a tropical fusion. The EP contains two Afro inspired tracks, using live instruments including the Kora & Balafon. From the light percussion of Frente al Río, to the heavy beats of Triturando el Alma, this EP offers something for everyone, with fresh unique groovy rhythms, ready for the dance-floor & beyond.

Novad is a young producer/singer/multi-instrumentalist from Panamá who first started playing flute at the age of 6. His music is inspired by Caribbean and Latin culture, using exotic instruments such as Marimbas in his compositions, as well as on occasion adding his voice to his music.

I've been recording this piano record in my living room with a lovely American made Charles Walter upright piano that I found on Craigslist - or maybe it found me - but this record captures three weeks in June when I create some compositions with it and added a few string parts as well.  Enjoy.
