I wanted to share some insights about Japanese techno artists who have a distinct synth style characterized by a nostalgic and melancholic vibe. These artists bring their own colors to the music, and I would be delighted to introduce them to audiences outside Japan.

An integral player in the current Japanese wave of house and techno; we’re pleased to welcome DJ and producer Gonno to our mix series.

Gonno’s DJ sets strive towards story-telling: drawing on eclectic sounds from the spectrum of house and techno, and acidy and melodic flavours to draw clubbers in. Meanwhile, his productions have earnt staunch support of the local scene, as well as further afield thanks to releases on Perc Trax, Endless Flight and Ostgut Ton.

Experience a taste of this here in Gonno’s contribution to the series. As suited to headphones as the dancefloor, buckle in to 90-minutes bobbing along melodic heaters, frantic techno, flecks of acid and electro and a generous dose of his own stellar productions.
