SouTHboy has been an integral part of slovak clubbing culture for over a decade now both as a dj and producer.
Given a classical music education of playing violin helped to sculpt and refine his ear for music and musical composition. First attempts to entertain people as a dj date back to 1994 on private parties and school radio. The first ever gig under his moniker was a small underground club in his hometown in 2002 playing a mixture of triphop, dub and techno.
In 2004 he temporarily relocated to Southport England, where he was spinning in Flava club alongside Soulfelt crew djs. This encounter was a real eye-opener for him. Since then he realised that his musical taste should not be limited to 4/4 music only and so he embraced all different kinds of music including soul, funk, hiphop and others. Since then the more you know him the harder it is to strictly pigeon hole this guy into one genre. In small, smokey bars you can hear him dig deep into his crate to drop hip-hop, nu-disco and rare groove records. If you catch him warming up for someone more famous expect organic deep house. In the peak time groovy tech house is his weapon of choice. This ability to suit his musical selection to a particular place and time make him not only a real musical chameleon but a respected and demanded warm-up dj, since he can perfectly adapt his style to almost anyone. He is always open to exploring new and emerging genres like dubstep or most lately bass music, taking what he likes out of them and making it an integral part of his own vision of good party music. This vision took him to many clubs in Slovakia, Czech Republic but also to England and Holland. Currently he is resident at a small undeground club Radost in Slovakia's capital Bratislava with his monthly party "Headroom" and part of booking and music enthusiasts crew housemusic.sk.
As a producer his first attemps date back to '98 when he first experimented with tracker software. Since then he had releases and remixes on labels like Soluble, Sex Panda White, Seta, UNT Records a.o. ranging from deep house to progressive.
