And there's been many times I simply don't understand His ways, His will for my life.  But in the still moments, if I surrender completely, and stop and listen, God is speaking.

I don't know about you, but there are times when a song will come on and no matter where I am or what I'm doing, I stop dead in my tracks and listen.  I feel as though I'm transported back in time... back to a simpler time, a happier time.  I can name a handful that have that affect sung by Journey, Phil Collins, Lionel Richie and more. Anyway, this song describes that emotion so beautifully.

I love the words of this song.. "So I'll cherish the Old Rugged Cross, til my trophies at last I lay down. I will cling to the Old Rugged Cross and exchange it someday for a crown."  Lyrically and spiritually uplifting and full of promise and hope. I pray the message of this song comforts and keeps you, the same way it has for me both then and now.

This song will always hold a very special place in my heart.  It was sung at my grandma's funeral in 2011 and I remember even as a child, this song covering me with a peace that I didn't quite understand.  Now, as an adult, I am comforted by these words and resolute in my faith because I know all that is and will be is covered by my Lord and Savior.

This song reminds me of my dad. It's one of his favorites and whenever I hear it, I think of him.  He has a beautiful bass tone to his voice and along with my mom, an alto, helped to shape me musically from a very early age.  I guess you could say they both taught me to sing.  And what better song to sing to honor both the gift I've been given and the love I have for them!

My favorite Disney princess for a time, until Belle came along and stole the show!  Seriously was obsessed with Ariel for many years -- I mean, those pipes.. that hair.. that confidence.  As a result, I've loved this song since.  So here you go! [[channeling my inner Ariel]] :)

Oh Mulan, I could literally feel her pain to break free from the expectations thrust upon he through this song.  Not my favorite Disney movie, but I adore this song.  I think every young girl feels this way at some point in her tween/teen years. So, in honor of 'finding oneself', here's my attempt at 'Reflection'. :)
