At one point in my life, I met a person who, for a moment, completely rocked my world. I wanted to be around them all the time. I wanted to know everything about them; from their likes and dislikes to what made them laugh and what made them cry. Every last detail felt important. I became fixated with the idea of exploring our connection because although ours was a fully platonic relationship, it captivated me so instantly. At times it was so intense it made me question my own sanity. We playfully labelled ourselves obsessed with each other. Our friendship, as well as having watched a lot of “You” on Netflix, sparked me to write “Obsessed”.

I wrote “Feeding My Mind” back in 2019. At the time I was convinced it was the worst year I had ever suffered through. Clearly, I was not yet aware of what was to come (hint: pandemic). I have struggled with chronic insomnia for over a decade, but for some reason, it was particularly bad in 2019. It seemed no amount of sedatives was enough to put me to rest. Ultimately, the exhaustion drove me to a strange state of madness, in which I remained for a good while. It was as though I grew comfortable with being in the presence of my own demons. In a weird way I enjoyed their company, so I pretty much just let them overstay their welcome and somewhere in the midst of all that chaos I wrote: “Feeding My Mind”. // NEA EINI

In my head, ”Rollerblades” is like the pseudo-innocent baby sister of “I’m game”. I imagine teenagers sneaking out to meet their friends or secret love interests, fueled by an insatiable hunger for adventure. The streets come alive with neon signs, vintage cars and retro milkshake shops—all the good stuff from classic 80’s movies. Beneath its sweet and youthful facade, “Rollerblades” conceals a mischievous and captivating allure, effectively juxtaposing innocence and temptation. It serves as an anthem for those who understand wanting something for the intoxicating thrill of it, unburdened by earnestness.

However, this “American Dream” adopts a different perspective — one that delves into the poignant narrative of a lonely, remorseful woman ensnared by the past, a prisoner to her own ill-fated choices. She lingers amidst the echoes of her regrets, while relentlessly yearning to be that singular, irreplaceable presence in her former lover’s life — the embodiment of his personal American dream. The song serves as a reminder that an inability to liberate oneself from the chains of nostalgia can cause one’s existence to become a lifeless one.

'Into The Wild' is a song about running away from your feelings inside. When you just don’t know where to go or what to do and all you want to do is run away to another world, where everything is all you ever wanted it to be. This song was written during a period in my life when I really wanted to deal with all my different emotions, but I didn’t know how to. All I wanted was a place to run to where I could place all my feelings, and that’s what Into The Wild became, my escape from reality. // Erica

Swedish/Spanish lyrics with an ambition to create a sense of Swedish troubadour jazz. I brought the song to Ole when it was just one line. I was struggling with the melody and didn't have any lyrics done except in the chorus. Together we developed this easy-going simple song that I think is sweet and innocent. I Tried to sing like a child talking to another child, the song is explaining to people that they need to slow down but in a playful and kind way. It is a really simple song about a simple emotion and I wanted it to stay that way. Being live and acoustic was the only way this could be recorded for me. We have our whole lives to fall in love. Why do some people have to rush and force it? When it happens it happens.

Writing “MOOD”, I was actually inspired by real cases of Erotomania, a delusional disorder causing an individual to believe that someone, typically famous or otherwise unattainable, is in love with them. The lyrics tell a fictional story about an unstable woman who’s convinced she’s having a love affair with a high-profile, married man. Her fixation with him can clearly be detected from the very first sentence of the song. While the story is actually quite a sad one, the music is very upbeat and I really wanted that contrast.

“I’m game” has me visualizing the tall buildings, the clubs and corner shops embellished with neon signs on the brightly lit streets of Miami. Sleepless cities and busy nightlife. I’m picturing women in colorful bodysuits and oversized denim jackets, funky leg warmers and hairs iconically cripped. People blowing their money on blowing their noses. I wasn’t around during the eighties, but I’ve been told “the drugs were better and the parties were totally radical”.
