The young argentinian talent signs a high-carats EP on the mystical Surrrealism label. 3 original tracks accompanied by 2 remixes by Auggië and Colossio.

Auggië is in charge of mounting us in his spaceship and teleporting us where only he knows. The remix of him to “Charangeola” is a veritable display of deep sonic detail to create a perfect club atmosphere.

Nuria Baena has captured a feeling of life and nature for the cover. Mother Earth is symbolized through an idyllic heart full of life and far from human intervention. What has led us to destroy this wonder? The dystopia that humans have imposed on this planet will cause irreversible damage ...

The title track, 'Together We're More', is beautifully accompanied with delicate lyrics by Graham Baxter. The journey begins in a dark, almost soulful way with an atmospheric, purling soundscape but the way is quickly found as the light of Baxter's voice guides us confidently through a rugged path, to a summit of clear skies.

Souvenir is proud to present the follow up to last year’s In The City compilation. This time round, we’re using it as a way of presenting some of the newer talents to have been introduced to the Souvenir stable.

The Belgian producer Sierra Sam provides the opening two, a pair of true vocal groovers. Sammy relocated to Berlin 5 years ago to work as the label manager of Tuning Spork and Contexterior, and has subsuquently continued on his prolific release schedule as well as recently joining the Souvenir family. The track provided by Athenian and Rhythmetic Records label boss CJ Jeff alongside long serving partner Thodoris Triantafillou is rocket propelled, the rolling bassline designed to ratchet up the tension. Emanuel Satie, a young resident of Frankfurt serves up the next two, a bouncy little number with a cheeky refrain about licking lollipops and a peak-time driver called ‘Moonbounce’. Satie cut his chops at Cocoon and then after a time spent in Swabia, is back in his hometown and looks forward to even more releases. 

Denmark’s finest Denis Horvat brings a wonkier after hours vibe, an ethereal vocal treatment melds flawlessly with some jazzy chords. The young Dane began his musical career as a drummer, progressing onto a basic DOS drum sequencer and subsequently onto releasing on labels like Berlin’s Upon You, Kling Klong and now Souvenir!
Kasbah Zoo is a collaborative project from the Italian duo Alex and Nic as a means of focusing their joint DJ experience into productions. After a few releases, they started Zoo:Technique and later the vinyl only imprint Babaloo Records. Here they dish out a ravey monster and a percussive workout with throbbing bassline. Chris Wood, who along with his usual sparring-partner Meat, is one of Souvenir’s core members. Another Frankfurt resident, he’s held a longtime residency at Monza and recently dropped ‘JR Juniors’ as a follow up to last year’s ‘Triple S’ right here. This track cements his knack for producing incredibly insistent basslines. Lastly, Tapesh, the Variante Music boss and Maximilijan dish out a diamond-tipped tech monster, all ominous keys and marching band drums.

Balance Music is to release Meteorite Man, the fantastic debut album of much vaunted American producer Brian Cid, in December 2018.

Cid hails from Brooklyn and has a rich history in music. From playing the drums as a youngster and experimenting with his own compositions, to working in the pop and hip hop worlds as an audio engineer for more than a decade, his studio skills are unquestionable. Driven by a love of club culture, he brings a lush and melodic style to the scene and has done so on labels like fabric, Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound and Get Physical. Always turning the heads of those who know, kingpins like Joris Voorn and Sasha, Lee Burridge and Pete Tong have all played his music, and he has recently launched his own label Endangered, which next to releasing music also deals in global events that combine live performance and art. On his debut album he goes further than ever before to serve up a stunning ten track affair that takes you on an immersive musical adventure with meaning and purpose.

The title track opens the album with eight minutes of cinematic deep space ambiance that is wholly spellbinding and begins this cosmic voyage with perfectly crafted sci-fi details. ‘Soledad’ has soft, rolling drums carrying on the exploration as scintillating synths hang in the air above with real poise and purpose. The exquisite ‘Limits’ is a more dance floor aligned track but is just as epic thanks to the expansive synth work and ‘Ascenso’ is another majestic ten minutes of enthralling and progressive synth lines that lift you ever higher, while ‘Friendly Strangers’ gets a bit darker, with heavier moods and drums all speaking of inner turmoil.

The second half of the album touches on dramatic cosmic storms on ‘Amman Dolore’ and powerful drum programming on ‘Quest,’ which is a marching groove with real menace. The absorbing ‘Eden’ then lifts your spirits again with beautifully celestial chords and keys that are filled with hope, ‘Liar Eyes’ twists and turns on warm solar winds and ‘Doors of Perception’ closes things out with another perfectly drawn out track of pensive drums and reflective synths that leave you adrift in your own thoughts.

This is an ambitious album that is utterly absorbing throughout its many well-paced and expertly atmospheric highs and lows.

Amsterdam dwelling editor par excellence Em Vee took the solo reigns on the inaugural Lumberjacks In Hell - and truly excelled with a great reimagination of "Miss You". The second release on the label sees the German share duties with Spanish edit demon Rayko, with the Rare Wiri boss hogging the A Side. First up is an expert rearrangement of Candi Staton's cover of the Bee Gee's standard "Nights On Broadway" which strips the track of its orchestral leanings to focus on the groove! Following this is a meaty take on a classic, with Barbara Keith's cover of "All Along The Watchtower" reinforced with some bottom end bump. Em Vee spreads a special disco version of Alma Lee's late 70s Philly delight "Gimme Your Love" with an extended intro that fully displays his edit talents.

Poker Flat label boss Steve Bug connects with one of Spain’s most inspirational producers and DJs - Uner. The results, predictably, are dancefloor gold. 
Mantis on the Moon slips into its groove from the very start, an insistent beat matched with swingy percussion. The track takes its time but slowly builds into a Minimal / Deep Tech monster over the course of the seven and a half minutes.

So much more important than any of the parties, the interminable travel, magazine covers or cash, every great DJ should begin first and foremost, with one goal: to be the most avid collector. Honing down the multitude of records is his task, through unearthing and treasuring music, new and old; almost as a traveler navigating his way through the ocean of new sounds. It&apos;s this constant drive for sonic exploration that&apos;s responsible for Souvenir, the Berlin label spearheaded by the brothers Ali and Basti Schwarz, better known to the world simply as Tiefschwarz.

With over five years in existence, the label has steadily amassed an impressive roster of artists, forming a closely-knit family of upcoming producers around them, as well as working alongside some of the leading figures in contemporary electronic music. It’s also been a home for most of Tiefschwarz’s own output with the young label’s very first release being the single ‘Hey’ back in 2006, recorded under the brother’s Ichundu alias. Since then they’ve had a ten-year celebratory ‘Best Of’ compilation, an album ‘Chocolate’ and their ‘In The City’ label sampler. With a whole host of artists having released singles along the way, including names like Riton, Phonique and Ziggy Kinder, the label has now become home to a steady group of talented young producers, Re.You, Sante, Chris Wood &amp; Meat and Ruede Hagelstein. Ruede himself recently released his debut album, ‘Soft Pack’ alongside his band The Noblettes, an electro-indie sound with an ethereal, downbeat version of his dancefloor anthem ‘Emergency’. In order to foster up and coming talent, Souvenir launched a digital-only label called Souvenirplus, and with plenty already on the cards for 2012 (including perhaps a much anticipated, new Tiefschwarz album), this small label proves exactly why Berlin really is the world capital for contemporary electronic music.
