The first single release of the debut album, “Someone's Got the Best of Me”, sets the tone for the entire long player. Beda sings in the chorus: “Now I'm back to being a boy on the playground / No care in this world”. Full of hope, the trio is prepared to write a new chapter not only musically, but also on a personal level. Stumbling stones along the way are meant to be juggled with – like at a carnival where the music video of track takes its inspiration from. Heralded by the sunny synth solos and the rousing singalongs, the serenity of “Someone’s Got the Best of Me” prevails throughout Soybomb's debut album “Jonglage”.

Soybomb begins “Soy Bob Omb” in their usual relaxed inclination, but unlike the title suggests, everything quivers and floats in its rightful position. The nonchalant stumbling beat or the occasional tremoring voice only occur for the sake of the swag. Just like the urge to indulge in vice, “Soy Bob Omb” starts off easily, only to thunderhead into an epic rush that dissipates in the outro. Catchy like no other song on “Jonglage”, this track sketches both an ode to and a reminder of the impulses of the modern flaneur: the daily calm and calamity which we immediately fear yet desire all the same.

Soybomb dances with mischief and euphoria over any terrain, incorporating these into their own eclectic mix. The trio manned by Andreas Achermann, Linus Gmünder, and Beda Mächler continues to impress with gutsy live performances and a determined sense of direction.
