Ultra Detroit - Ixindamix kicks the doors off a heaving Detroit warehouse with a funky roller fuelled by searing synths, hypnotic vocals and a steely edged analogue warmth.

U Boat - Jeff 23 and Crystal Distortion dive deep down into the abyss with a mechanical symphony of dark menace, charged frequency and sublime tension…

Psi has a spectrum of meanings and interpretations ranging from it being the 23rd letter of the Greek alphabet to a measure of pressure.

The original is a breakneck rampage of raw warehouse rave, while Crystal Distortion steps up into a slamming rework  with the Gotham Hijack Mix – psychedelic, dynamic, frenetic techno that crystallises the harder sound SP23 was instrumental in developing across the European scene

Two heavyweight remixes come from Charlie Kane who is second generation SP23. His Acid Overdrive Mix is a dark, penetrating, rolling acid groove, bursting with sensual atmospherics and industrial echoes while his 2 Steppin Ruffneck mix tears up the bad boy vibes with a dub garage rollout.

Here's my mix one week later from the Val D'Isére one. As you can hear Liveset improvisation always takes us somewhere else. you could say say "same same but different" . However, this show's clearly how improvised dance music adapts to each night in it's own special way.

SP23 is a creative collective of musicians, DJs and artists. 

SP23 members were prime instigators in the mighty Spiral Tribe Sound System as well as the underground recording studio and vinyl distribution organisation that would become Network 23.

Their reputation for the best and boldest underground raves (on beaches, up mountains or deep within the derelict industrial sprawl) preceded them. On an unstoppable roll across Britain and Europe their convoy of sound system trucks rapidly became known as the source of a deep and inspiring fugitive groove.

Respected as pioneers of live dance music, the SP23 Sound System generates an electrifying vibe. From the very centre of their dance floor pulses a magnetic unity. An irresistible pull to move. 

Today SP23 moves from strength to strength, playing packed houses all over Europe while our production crew are busy in the studio working on new tracks for the  SP23 label.
