This track uses Euler's number "e" (approx 2.7183) calculatedf with increasing precision from 1 to 60. The digits are used to select notes from a minor_pentatonic scale which are then played above a drone bass.

Unstable Sound is inspired by a physical phenomenon called modulation instability and consists in the sonification of modulation instability of a light wave propagating in an optical fibre. The piece is composed using Sonic Pi, open-source software created by Sam Aaron to create and perform music by writing code.
