Ara-u announces a new electro compilation on his label No Static / Automatic. Titled The Exiled, the album showcases the sound of artists he grew up with in his local scene in Venezuela and also sets out to raise money to support the local community. 

The Exiled brings together a new generation of exiled artists who left the country for economic and political reasons.  The act of working with them on the release also strives to keep them connected and bring a creative sense of joy to their home country. All proceeds from the release will be donated to Santa Cruz De Mara which supports elderly people living in poverty and struggling to survive with accommodation and food.

Very much a collaboration.

Tante Meli supplied vocals and lyrics, vocal production, very good drum ideas, synth swells and sampled organ.

Faerytale played perfect cello and pan flute.

I brought guitars and bass, bass synth, sampled organ, digital percussion and drums. Then I attempted to mix it all.

It was fun.

Locked Up contains 8 exciting producers ranging from breakbeat, electro & bass, all contributing their interpretation of a year being spent locked inside. From artists ranging from Birmingham to Brighton, Angers to Copenhagen, the V/A is yet another strong release from Fly By Night to round off what has been a long 2020 in which the label have been picking up the pace.
