The Hotevilla project was born a year after KALK's Akasha EP (BRIF003) has been re-issued by Gerd Janson in 2017 on Running Back Double Copy (RBDC02). Its purpose is simple: exploring the many shades of House Music.

One fateful night in Spanish Harlem a group of gorgeous souls congregated to celebrate the one and only Mike Wilson.  A Studio 54 theme had everyone dressed too impress and ready to let loose.  This recording is my sonic offering to get the evening going.  Big thanks to all that danced!

Mike Wilson's Delicious Birthday Disco

Sometimes you do mix and listen back and for some reason you are not happy with it. This was the case with this. I remember mixing it in my old apartment in Seattle in 2022. Listening back it's amazing how different the vibe of music is coming out now. I like this mix now but I wasn't happy with the flow or some of the transitions at the time. When i rediscovered it on my hard drive I decided it wasn't so bad after all,  plus it's been a long time since I shared a mix - so here it is. Where usually I would work to perfect the mix as much as possible, this one was done in a single take. I hope you like it.
