Combina grabaciones desoladas de ejercicios y fragmentos sin resolver del conservatorio (el dilema del adiós y la formación clásica) con los primeros beats y texturas que emergían de las nuevas tecnologías y el desarrollo de las computadoras (el desafío del futuro digital).

🎧 "THE LONELY TAPES" is the second volume in this experimental series. This installment encapsulates the moods and uncertainty that consumed me while I was deciding my future in music, back around 2001. It combines desolate recordings of unresolved exercises and fragments from the conservatory (the dilemma of saying goodbye and classical training) with the first beats and textures emerging from new technologies and the development of computers (the challenge of the digital future)

Carl also plays regular gigs throughout Oslo & also has been known to play some naughty Disco-charged private parties for thirsty groovers. His goal as a DJ is to always create the ultimate atmosphere, not just dropping bangers, taking the crowd on a journey into the rhythms of contemporary electronica, groovy disco & quality house music. 

He has been incredibly inspired by music from the last century including Old School Hip-Hop, Classic 80’s Disco, & the birth of Electronica. These all made a lasting impression on him. This grounding inspires him to think differently & dare to look outside the box.

Last month saw Monsieur Van Pratt (Jesús Rodríguez) deliver a show stopping remix for Drop Out Orchestra’s top ten Disco hit “Tunga Stenar”.

Van Pratt is back with his solo debut on Discoholics Anonymous Recordings: 1984!

1984 is a funky, synth-laden homage to the 80ies with Monsieur Van Pratt demonstrating, that his song writing skills are evolving and maturing.


The overall feel of the song has a slight tinge of sunshiney balearica mixed and fused with notes of Latin-American influences.

Sauco’s remix goes full on Balearic, with a sun drenched sound directly from the balearic islands.
Sauco adds a glittering coat of pads and lush synth-lines yet maintaining the very soul of the original.

The breakdown is drop dead beautiful!
