A wise man once said: “Make Italo Disco Great Again”.
His name was Guido Balboa.

From there, Romain FX, after having camped his studio at this Italian’s home for a couple of years in Hong Kong, had an epiphany.
He made a track using this genius tagline on Boots & Legs from Australia and wanted to take this phrase even further. And so this compilation was born.

Scouting unknown and more known talents, Romain would put together a compilation full of cheesy goodness for dance-floor-ready tunes right in time for open-airs this summer of 21 after a long danceless year. For the first volume, A-team guests were asked to partake in the adventure, we have Bijou, Franz Scala, Alberto Melloni, Doctor, Berny, Daniel Monaco & Romain FX.

Following a series of memorable appearances on Casco’s Music Control and Bordello A Parigi, Miss Plug Inn teams up with Norwegian cosmic disco veteran Jarle Bråthen for a double dose of Italo Pop on Funnuvojere Records.

Under Neon Lights is an uplifting funk track buoyed on a surge of nostalgic synth, in which love seems to find itself again. On the B side Girls of The Night has just the right amount of hard synths to bring us back to the electro cosmic sound of the early 2000s.The hip-house vocals are the cherry on top of this delicious cake.

A chugging bass line, acoustic drums, fragments of piano house and tripped-out trance waves distinguish Budino’s remix of Under Neon Lights. Omer’s remix of Girls Of The Night conjures a Miss Plug Inn in leather attire. This is a rather uptempo remake for late night dance floors. Check out Bråthen’s Rabbagast remix for a Hi-NRG club banger.

Around the room smartly dressed men sat swilling whiskey in their cut glass tumblers, pretending they had important matters of business to discuss. Everybody here knew who she was and the trouble that she and her deadly beauty brought with her. Many had fallen at her feet before, and many would again. 

Next up on Optimo Music's schedule is a debut EP from Matisa, an Italian-born DJ and producer who brings her sophisticated stylings to the Twitch and Jonnie's imprint.
