There’s a distinct pulse to the night, a metronomic sway and swell that asserts itself as streets clear, the suburbs quiet and city streets transform into their crepuscular counterparts. This beat runs deep–it's an intrinsic part of life. What would the warmth of the day be without the still chill of the night? Tran Scended has an answer, coming in the form of Shell Tape 95.

Carving a path through layers of granular synth pads, blistering snares and bass that heaves to and fro like some primordial beast, Shell Tape 95 echoes the murky movements of the twilight hours and beyond–a sense of skittish mystery cloaking each skipping high hat, dubbed-out vocal sample and wobbling bassline. We’re hit with abstract UK bass, breakbeat techno, figments of garage and high-tempo rave workouts drawing from hardcore, jungle, grime and techy drum and bass, all cloaked in a low-frequency shroud and mixed impeccably. 

Much like the shadowy rhythms of the actual night, there’s an oddly irresistible menace to it–Tape 95 daringly crosses over into the transgressive zone visited only by those living on the flip side of the solar coin. Pull up, bruk out and then enjoy the steamy sunrise, “it’s Tran Scended motherfucker”.
