Disco, Brazilian music, jazz, soul, hip hop, funk, deep house & House classics, all his travels around the globe allows him to dig rare tracks. His first track released on Yellow Productions, he then started his own label Space Breaks Records, and label nights with  Dj Deep, Dj Gregory, Dj Yellow, Blackjoy, played alongside Kerri Chandler, Osunlade, Phil Asher, Gilles Peterson... in the way to leave a mark & a footprint as he says. His biggest pleasure is to share the happiness that the music is giving him with as many as he can, or with friends djs & producers, he runs through clubs in London, Manchester, Hard Times in Leeds, New York, Paris ... Gwen has created here a rare & unique selection of his original pressings that reflects his musical influences & tastes, combining Brazil, jazz, disco & deep house classics.

Pour ce nouvel épisode, nous avons choisi de Vous présenter notre guest sous la forme d'un entretien. Interview avec GWEN:

DeepRAW: Peux-Tu présenter le mix que Tu as réalisé pour DeepRAW? Dans quelles conditions l'as-Tu enregistré?

GWEN: Ecoute, jai fait le mix assez simplement, vraiment intuitif, en faisant une selection deep & raw comme je l'entends dans le sens propre du terme, enregistré chez moi a Londres, en vinyl exclusivement avec une table rotative, donc très basique.

DR: Qu'écoutes-Tu comme style musicale en dehors de la House Music?

G: Elle me fait sourire ta question, et bien pour être honnête, je ne peux pas vivre sans musique, donc j'écoute de tout, pratiquement! Beaucoup de jazz, musique brésilienne, des BO de films, les shows de Gilles Peterson, du disco, de la pop Anglaise, des edits, des re edits, des trucs francais aussi, Gainsbourg évidemment (grosse collection) du hip hop, mais beaucoup de House & deep house en plus des demos & promos une bonne centaine par semaine, la house reste quand même ma music de prédilection...

DR: Peux-Tu nous parler de deux ou trois albums que Tu aimerais nous présenter?

G: ah il faut faire une chronique? lol euhhh 3 albums ? ok ok

2*Serge Gainsbourg "Percussions" 
3*Antonio Carlos Jobim "Waves"

DR: Peux-Tu nous parler en quelques mots de Space Breaks Records?

G: DEEP HOUSE / RAW / ROUGH, label fonde en 2007 avec la première sortie "Ojo" de Guyom, 15 sorties a ce jour. vinyl & digital

DR: Pourquoi avoir choisi le nom Space Breaks Records?

G: C'est je crois la première fois que l'on me pose la question... lol nan je déconne, tout vient de ma MPC enfin mon sampleur, je bidouille toujours des drums programming, j'adore ca, toujours des textures chelou donc "Space" et comme se sont des drums "Breaks" après tu remarqueras que le logo swing comme une MPC, bref le logo défonce ! c'est un ami a moi Manu Bergot qu'il a crée.

DR: Pourquoi avoir choisi Londres comme lieu de résidence?

G: Le choix de Londres n'est pas un choix au hasard, j'ai toujours aimé Londres depuis très jeune, j'y suis souvent allé, et les anglais connaissent tellement la musique, tu parles avec un inconnu dans le rue, nan je te jure, le mec te bluffe en 2 secondes, donc il était necessaire pour le label d'être a Londres, ici c'est la Winter Music Conference toutes les semaines, tous les mecs viennent ici, très simple donc pour la promo du label.

DR: Quel dj t'a dernièrement le plus marqué?

G: Theo Parrish je pense, il vient @ Plastic People pour sa résidence assez souvent, il joue de tout donc joli voyage a chaque fois, nan il a du goût, c'est très intéressant !

DR: Nous savons que Tu restes très attaché au format vinyl pour mixer, quel est le disque (ou quels sont les disques) que Tu mets systematiquement dans ton flycase pour jouer en soirée?

G: Tu veux savoir? jai toujours aimé les promos copy, les originaux, les pochettes, digger des vinyls partout dans le monde, donc forcément j'ai beaucoup de disques, ils ont tous une histoire avec moi, ils font partis de ma vie vraiment, c'est toujours les classiques qui restent dans ton flycase, du Kerri Chandler, Ron Trent, Sueno Latino, des vieux Emotive Records, les premiers Masters aussi, Nu Groove aussi ou encore Moodymann...

DR: Peut-on en savoir d'avantage sur les prochaines sorties de Space Breaks?

G: Eh bien le timeline est boucle pour cette année, le 015 "Universal Language" vient de sortir, plus dark et moody mais Ron Trent est déjà fan, lol donc je suis content, après tu sais bien, les goûts et les couleurs, c'est très subjectif... 016 "Adham Zahran" 017 "ETS Project" 2 vinyls et la jai bien hâte que ça sorte !!! pour moi 2 super EP, pour conclure, 10 releases jusqu'à décembre, Petr Serkin, Bertrand Dupart, Zeljko Bradic & bien d'autres + des surprises mais je n'en dis pas plus...
