The material was collected with the assistance of the DUBFUSION (community) label. In this collaboration, we want to show the current range of independent electronic music of the city and its representatives.

Half of the Parisian duo Glass Figure, Julien Mercier offers here his personal projects,  a retro-futurist electronic music,  gothic and romantic. “No Time”…  is the song that motivates the artist to act. “Life is too short not to be where you want, not to do what you want. No time, we have to align ourselves with who we really are”. "Vésone" (title of the EP) is the name of the Gallo Roman tower next to which the artist grew up, the legend says that Saint Front would have created its breach with his stick, by chasing the demons who took refuge in the tower.

London based producer & DJ Vanity Project brings us the first in a series of ‘Leisure Tapes’ EPs – featuring four live to tape crunchy cosmic house jams, hums, clicks, hiss and all.

The EP brings influences from classic italo, acid and downtempo cosmic house, and was initially written for a new Vanity Project live set. Recorded and mixed live at Claptrap HQ with an MPC3000 as the heart of the set up and various vintage treats thumping away in it’s wake. As the first in a series of ‘Leisure Tapes’ the EP is themed around minigolf, and has amazing artwork from London based artist & maker of things Sacha Lacey.

PREMIERE: Vanity Project - Bogey [Claptrap]

The cool German label Dance Petrol Records closes its 2022 season by delivering the second instalment of its well-curated VA series “Selected Fuels”. Yes, before you ask, “fuels”, in this context, means “tracks”, and yes, they are called this way because they are meant to ignite frenzy (aka wreak havoc) on the dance floor.

For the occasion, artists from all over Europe were invited to bring their own interpretation of House Music: Etur Usheo, Masupilami, A_P_F_L, Philip Habel, Jonas Gottlieb, Schegg, Passerines, and So.undso, veteran members of the label roster, received the company of Orbital Drum System and Robotiq, the newcomers.

Premiered here, A_P_F_L’s contribution is a refreshing 136-BPM cut. Featuring a KAPOW bassline, “Feels To Be” also presents dreamy chords and spot-on vocal hooks that establish a sober but upbeat atmosphere. It should be longer, though: Its less-than-five-minute-length is simply not enough to be properly danced to. But anyway, it is still longer than his previous 3:41-minute appearance on “Selected Fuels 001”. Slowly, the promising Hamburg-based producer is getting there. ;)
