Blue was the first song I ever sent to my co-writer and producer Trevor Lewington (Enter the Haggis / The Wilderness Club), which began our creative partnership. The chorus came after a frustrating moment at work, and later I found an old journal with a poem I’d written while studying Surrealist poetry. That verse ended up fitting the song’s mood—being misunderstood and feeling blue.
