After three years of dub techno releases, the time has come for a proper debut Space Scavengers LP. We believe "Above and Beyond" marks a true milestone for the project. In this album the duo are bringing together more diverse elements of techno than ever before.

Driven by human curiosity, we turn our gaze to the moon once more. Like a mesmerized Icarus, this time we fly past its near side, drawn by the dark and mysterious far side of the moon. Dwelling deep into the darkness, Armstrong's first steps on the surface become toe dips into the unknown. Far Side is the second chapter of Selenographies, concluding Space Scavengers exploration of our natural satellite, Selene.

The idea that the Moon is not perfectly smooth goes back to at least 2500 years, when Democritus asserted that the Moon's "lofty mountains and hollow valleys" were the cause of it's markings. Lunar mapping became systematic in the late 18th century and it wasn't until 1959 that the first photographs of the far side of the Moon were transmitted from the Soviet spacecraft Luna 3. Space Scavengers draw inspiration from Selenography, the topography of the Moon, for their latest album, to be released in two parts. Chapter one is dedicated to the bright & serene, mesmerizing Near Side of our natural satellite, Selene.

[ For our annual and third Echogarden Compilation we asked for your contributions and once again your participation was overwhelming! We have been thrilled!! Thank you so much!! 

We received over 80 great tracks from artists all over the world and we enjoyed listening to all these tracks. It wasn´t easy to decide which tracks to choose and which will find its place on the compilation. For a fair selection process we didn't watch out for names and popularity but listened to all tracks with closed eyes. 

Finally we came up with 22 tracks, available as digital download and on 2 CDs. We hope you love this Dub Techno selection as much as we do! 

A special thanks goes out to everyone who took part in this project. Thank you for all your awesome tracks, whether they made it on the compilation or not. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

“The smell of burning cornfields. Stock car racing and Swiss au- pair 1girls. It’s 1968 somewhere in south
England. An elegant wreck of a Georgian mansion called Marden Hill has been turned into an artist’s
community. Scarlet choirboys are terrorized by the children of painters, journalists, architects, explorers and
racing car drivers. On Summer nights the villagers are scandalized by the sound of Dave Dee, Dozy and
William wafting through the trees past midnight. In the Post Office there is talk of orgies to rival Nero’s. But
when the police mount a raid they discover only quantities of children painted paperbacks, a pair of
bloodstained trousers formerly the property of the Emperor Maximillian of Mexico, and a drawer of
photographs of naked little girls with a covering letter from Salvador Dali. Even in Marden Hill time marches
on. The Seventies arrive. The beatniks turn into hippies. The eighties arrive. The hippies become yuppies. There
are debates about investment, quarrels about ownership. When a little parcel arrives from the police containing
the Dali photographs they are thrown into a corner and forgotten until someone suggests cutting the signature of
the letter and selling it.
“What about the photos?” says the former racing car driver, now an investment consultant.
“Send them to the kids-they still appreciate that stuff”.
“Which kids?”
“Our first marriages, remember. The kids we had then”
“Refresh my memory. What happened to them?”
“They went to London to play music. They call themselves Marden Hill. I got a postcard from William the
other day. Seems they’ve made a record named after the mansion Dali build for Gala in Spain”
“How quaint. Well, send it to them, then. They will appreciate that sort of thing. Must be the way we brought
them up. Lord the follies of youth!”
These are my galactic dreams, my company all those years. Without them I feel alone…….lost in a neverending
path that I’ve decided to follow……my only way to the stars! You know that it takes a lifetime of
disappointment to turn a bitter man sexy, and this is the only truth.
