Among Those Killed In The Dawn Raid Was A Man Aged A Hundred

I wrote this song, Post Hoc Freddy, as a sort of ode to Freddy "Fuego" Gonzalez, after he left the band we were playing in together.  Fred is one talented cat, both trumpeter and flutist, and de facto band director.  We were backing Apostles, a rap duo, Megawatt and Win.  My brother in rhythm section arms bassist Mauro DePasquale, had already left a few weeks prior. My departure definitely had to with "Freddy", I wrote this song to him as a message, but post hoc in nature;  did I leave the band because of Freddy alone, the most salient and likely cause, or did I leave the both first because Mauro left, or both?  I determined both, therefore Freddy's leave can be seen as more of a  "post hoc" justification for me leaving the band; one event being more an assertion to be the cause of a later event simply by virtue of having happened earlier.  I see it this way, I left the band, first after Mauro left, then after Freddy left. This song brings back a lot of feelings from that time, around 2008; the band we were in, and the vibe we had going on as brothers...
