Space Cadet proudly presents “Anima," the debut Drum & Bass LP by Zar, inspired by the rich musical traditions of Hip Hop, Jazz, and Soul.

The title "Anima," meaning "Soul" in Italian, perfectly encapsulates the essence of this work. The album reflects Zar's years of living in Manchester, a city where the themes of community, passion, and integrity are ever present. These themes are not only central to the album but also resonate deeply with the cultural ethos of Italian roots, which emphasizes the importance of community.

Each track is a testament to the powerful influence of the vibrant artistic scene that defines both the city and Zar's musical journey.

EVABEE returns to Space Cadet with fresh momentum, following her recent Drum & Bass Arena release with Jolliffe, Moving On 2.0. Her history with the label already runs deep, previous Space Cadet cuts with Dub Phizix, Redeyes, and Zar (on his acclaimed Anima LP) established her as one of the imprint’s most distinctive voices. 
Now she steps into a new chapter of release. An A&B, a moment of discovery.. mixing both her styles of street soul, hip hop and drum and bass .. an unapologetic approach which says “this is me”.

Find Your Own  - 28/11/2025
“Find Your Own” marks the first glimpse into EVABEE’s forthcoming project.
Reuniting with last year’s collaborator on Bonnie, Cooper T’s Kong, and joined by Lewis Kennedy and O’sapien on the instrumental, the track drifts through Manchester soul, hip hop, and R&B,  tracing a path of self-discovery and an an almost documented approach to a flavour where  EVABEE explores vulnerability, direction, and the quiet determination to keep moving forward, all through her unmistakable blend of grit and softness. 

“Find A Way” (L-SIDE) - 05/12/2025
For the release’s companion piece, Eva partners with L-SIDE, the Brazilian heavyweight and V Recordings mainstay, last seen on Space Cadet with DRS on the brooding “EAV.”
Together, they carve out a deep, liquid, soulful excursion, where Eva’s vocals soar and shine over warm basslines and atmospheric production.
Created after a Sun and Bass excursion, filled with influence and vibes.. both took to the studio and wrote this across sea’s with the same lived experience of connection and togetherness, which feeling has been eternalised in this song. 
It’s a track that feels both intimate and expansive, electronic soul with emotional weight. Drawing us in to a warm embrace.

Bonnie is a track I created with Kong of Cooper T in Wellington Mill at my first studio in Manchester. It has that industrial, hustle and proper creative yet eerie atmosphere of the Mill that seeps into the song as I delved into the ‘darker’ side of my artistry, not every day light and love..  The production is a minimal vibe that puts the vocals and 808s front and center. It’s stripped back but full of purpose. 
I had the chance to explore a strong femininity yet rough edge with Bonnie and get a lot of frustration out… yet it still can be perceived as a love song. 

The lyrics are all about the wave of new life flowing into Manchester right now.  For me, “Bonnie” feels like an invitation—a way of celebrating and staying true to the original spirit of collaboration, hustle and innovation that defines the city’s creative scene. Capturing the energy of a city that’s constantly reinventing itself, sometimes without remembering the essence of the real hustle and community of Manchester.

DRS said “there’s summit in the water” probably the first time I ever met him and its always stuck.. its an ethos, we come from generations of special soulful people, hard grafters and serious about our art and nothings ever handed to us on a plate. I worked on the demo with TMNMS, where we explored a more stripped back song with piano chords, then we sent it to Dub Phizix who really made it tump and sound dead sick.
Our studio was next to The Untold Orchestra’s, they were rehearsing one day and we had a brain wave to ask them to write some strings for it, they absolutely blessed us with the most beautiful string quartet which I recorded in my little shipping container studio.  
There was something empowering in that whole session and it really adds to the beauty of this song for me.. Thankyou to Tom, George and Sam for helping me create something so wonderful - it’s a family affair. An ode to manny and my Bee’s .. we’re in it together and we’re a flippin force and this is a product of what happens when the creative worlds collide together...

DRS’s Space Cadet take its third orbit round the known universe, crash-landing once again in Planet Manchester. Big V’s still flying from the rocket roof window, sat-nav bunned eternally, we run on pure fumes, instincts and emotions. Unconditionally…

This time we have a new pilot and whole new team of navigators: Evabee, TMNMS, Alto Sounds. New names to some, but not for much longer. If you’ve heard any of LSB and DRS’s sets in the last year, you’ll already know what they’re capable of. 

One song, three versions. ‘Unconditional’ is presented in three distinct ways by Manny’s leading cosmic cosmonauts. A stirring breakdown of what love can be when it’s honest and real, ‘Unconditional’ is written, sung and lead from the front by Evabee. Produced by two of her closest co-pilots Alto Sounds and TMNMS, it follows a select series of Evabee explorations both solo and as part of the collective A Broken Camarilla. Well known on the city’s live community, you might recognise her yearning, dreamy realness from collaborations with Tommy Tickle, Inka’s ‘Waveydon Ballads’ or her own self-released soul-massaging ‘Full Circle’ earlier this year. ‘Unconditional’ is her full official debut. 

The first incarnation is the DNB Remix. Beats crafted by Alto Sounds and TMNMS, Eva’s spacious delivery is given all the room it needs to hit home. Disarming, faraway, hopeful, universal, her emotional delivery brings you close in, heightened by DRS’s bars mid-way. Pure rolling food for the soul. 

It’s followed by the Hip-Hop Remix. Taking off where Space Cadet left us with DRS’s critically acclaimed guerrilla-dropped From The Deep album last January, once again Alto Sounds and TMNMS’s beats hit with a warm, authentic heat. Soft keys, slouching beats, bags of space for the delicately woven vocal lines from Evabee and DRS, it captures of the essence and soul of the city each of the creative individuals involved call home. 

The last significant bit comes courtesy of LSB. Mentored and deeply inspired by Marcus Intalex, a Space Cadet lieutenant since time and one of Delroy’s closest creative partners, Luke Beavon adds his touch to the original with a star-gazing remix that’s already turned heads across the drum & bass spectrum. Continuing the theme and vibes of their recent album ‘The Blue Hour’, the duo’s rolling sense of restraint and subtleties are felt deep in every detail. Recently captured on video at drum & bass spiritual HQ Sun And Bass, where Evabee performed the song live, it’s a classic dubplate story with many, many chapters left to be written…

This is what Space Cadet is all about. A discipline that runs deep in the code; celebrating the music, giving it time and space to breathe and making sure the coordinates are always set for the future generation and giving new talent their own rocket packs to fly freely. DRS’s years of grafting, connecting and rallying up the Northern troops can be seen and felt in the pulse of Manchester from everyone who’s graduated from Estate Recordings to the stratospheric prominence of Children Of Zeus. Space Cadet is the latest embodiment of Delroy’s dedication. And they’re only just warming up. 

Three releases and one year deep. Rocket roof open, V’s locked and loaded, it’s time to fly once again…
