Hello Friends, I'm 8ball (aka JDW, JDub, Josh Damon, Josh, Glasses Guy). I started DJing in the 90s at underground parties in SF and out on the playa. I started with drum n bass and expanding to a range of genres—breaks to disco, hip hop to funk, punk to electro, and all sorts of stuff in-between. I'm one of the OG members of the Bay Area arts and music collective, Space Cowboys.

And every now and then I mix ambient, experimental, and leftfield stuff, including some original tracks, as Nuv8.

This is a quick moment in time were we had a break from COVID-19. We hit the club where everyone felt vaccinated and safe, no known variants were in our midst. I felt every note of the tracks I played that night deep in my soul and blasted out through the speakers. Replaying this set will allow you to experience a taste of what I was feeling that night, freedom, liberation, movement, joy, excitement, love, honor, pleasure.

About D2:
D2 has toured the world as a drummer playing almost every style of music.

The original idea was to post this around my birthday in March, after getting about halfway through I realized March wouldn't happen because... well, I was only about halfway through. I parked it to focus on other things. Then came incredibly sad news about friend and Space Cowboy, Danny. He was always a fan of the BBQ sets, and frequently asked when I'd get to another. Yesterday was Danny's birthday, so I carved out time and finished it up. Not perfect, but long af, and hopefully suitable for BBQing. RIP Danny, hope he bumps this at the big grill in the sky.
