Portal 3000 - Bridge to New Earth @ Chabot Space Center

Manchesters legendary two room clubnight Tangled returned once again bringing their much loved sounds back to the smiley, sweaty dancefloor. 

This event was also a very special Tangled Breaks 25th Anniversary. The DJ's on the night were resident Steve Thorpe alongside original Tangled Breaks resident Herbie Saccani and the mighty Evil Nine. The night was a huge success and every DJ played an absolute blinder. Steve started the night building from 110bpm mixing familiar cuts with some brand new breaks, then Herbie followed with chunky mix of electro tinged, bass heavy breaks. Tom from Evil Nine then played an awesome 2 hour peak-time set comprising a selection of fresh beats, uncovered gems and Evil Nine classics. Steve finished the night in true style with Tangled Breaks classics uplifting piano infused breaks to end on a high! Smiley faces everywhere!

As part of our up coming 'Ten' project (which celebrates ten years of MC Shureshock and I having worked together) we are digging through the digital crates to find a bunch of old mixes we have done. This first one is a personal fave of mine. It's a mix I did for a magazine called 'Remix' in 2000 and was one of the first 'official' mixes I ever did. It may be from 2000, and it may now be 10 years old, but damn the beats still sound fresh! Oh and this was pre-Ableton days! i.e. it was done by mixing records together on two Technics turntables and a mixer (via pasting a hundred million takes together mind you!). Unison !!! - Late Night Techno Set

Nubreed was a trio of Australian record producers Jason Catherine, Michael Walburgh, and Danny Bonnici (vocalist). The three met while working on various musical projects around Melbourne and soon realized they had something special going with the new project they started together called Nubreed. On the stage they dished up a raw, explosive and dynamic live show with mixers, effect units, samplers and all kinds of Nubreed like gadgetry.

This mix was recorded Live for Australia's Triple J Radio back in February 2006.

W.Haze - Episode 213

REMASTER from an old analog mixtape for the '2AM Side' of my second mix tape DESERT FUNK, best copy we could find!  Back when the Chemical Brothers were still the Dust Brothers, this one helped me finally land some local LA gigs after getting some initial interest as a resident Moontribe DJ.  All vinyl, and a little rough around the edges mix-wise as I was really just starting to DJ, this felt like when I was finally finding 'my sound' and things were starting to flow for me.  I think it also captures a bit of what was really a very special time in EDM and early LA underground dance culture which I feel so lucky to have been a part of.  Thanks again to Scott Cattanach for the fresh, original cover art, Ken Lawrence of Pure Acid Mixtapes for helping me spread the word, Moontribe for giving me a chance, LA DJ godfathers like Doc Martin, Steve Loria, and DJ Dan for their help and guidance, all the fans and promoters for their support, and of course the fabulous, rockin' artists who provide the music for this sonic journey.
