We've got another special guest and long-time friend of Space Cowboys on this week's RIPEcast. Here is DISTRIKT's Matt Kramer dropping funky tech house at this year's Breakfast of Champions!

"Hats off the the Space Cowboys!  Breakfast of Champions this year was fantastic as always and playing it again was a big highlight for me.  This took place from 8am to 9am in the main room at Mighty and I have got to say…it was incredible.  Packed with dancers who seemed to appreciate everything I threw down. Matt Kramer is 15 year veteran DJ.  He began as a casual DJ and has tried to maintain that, but plays regularly around the San Francisco Bay Area.  He came on to the seen in the mid 90's listening to Sasha, John Digweed, Carl Cox, LTJ Bukem, and others from the era.  With these influences Matt began playing a mixture of Progressive House and Drum and Base.  Matt now plays a variety of Tech House, Techno, and House.  He is one of the founders of the non profit and Burning Man organization, "DISTRIKT".  His profitable life includes running "Dual Structure & Style, Inc.", a DJ console and furniture design and fabrication company in San Francisco.

The hypnotic momentum of the night passes to the hands of DJ Three as light begins to fill sky and the new day creeps ever closer.  For forty breathless minutes we wait… until at last the sun breaks over the horizon, and a collage of verbal musings, psychedelia and ornate music fills the air.  Toying with echoes and teasing with nuance, shutters fluttering to capture the fleeting moment…a moment not soon forgotten for those who were lucky enough to be there, at sunrise on Sunday, Black Rock City, Burning Man, 2014.   And then, just as easily as we are led into that place, a whole movement of sound and energy returns the dance floor.

Playing the 25th Anniversary of Breakfast of Champions was an absolute honor. The Space Cowboys have been a huge inspiration in my journey as a DJ, so getting the chance to represent Brooklyn at BOC this year was a dream come true. Sharing the stage with legends like Sporty-O  & Thug Shells  —who both came out to perform with me—made it even more special.
Knowing I was playing for a veteran crowd that’s heard and danced to some of the best breaks out there, I knew I had to bring my A-game. I think I accurately delivered my sound, keeping the energy high and the dance floor moving until the very end. Closing out the legendary MOG Stage alongside my mentors was an unforgettable experience.
Huge thanks to DJ Deckard, Rumblemunk, and the entire Space Cowboys crew for welcoming me with open arms and making me feel at home!

Influence - unSCruz 2025

This set has been in development for a long time. Originally arranged for 2024 campout season, it was shelved for nearly a year. More tracks were acquired and integrated in 2025, abd a bunch that were originally in didn't make the final cut. I've been taking some time off from DJing while learning to play guitar and pursue other creative outlets, but I felt the inspiration to dust off the decks and finally get this set finished. Hello all! Dancing Mandy and I are pleased to finally release our live recording of our tag team set at unSCruz 2025, Saturday night on the Luna Stage! Since we were slotted to play the closing set we decided to go ALL OUT and bang it out with some odes to the late night after hours that a lot of us grew up in.
