Red Rack’em is back with a new series devoted to the beautiful, self torturous art of overthinking, With the whole world stuck in a funk of uncertainty, it feels like a good time to blast away those cobwebs of uncertainty and release some music inspired by procrastination, quadruple guessing, agonizing over mixdowns (he’s never happy), using volume automation, channel gains AND bussing to create a melange of engineering cross purpose and take the writer even deeper into an artistically redundant mental cul de sac, which bears witness to countless stalled 3 point turn attempts. And that’s on a good day.

Eloi, a French producer hailing from Paris is the one behind Limited White Label's ninths black label release and takes you right to your late summer teen-romance you've never had. New York House and Disco legend Eli Escobar has been releasing music for over 20 years under various aliases as well as running incredible parties and his own label Night People. We’ve been huge fans of his productions over the years and when a chance to release some of his stellar music on our Phonica main label came about, we were over the moon.

The “Find A Way EP” kicks off with “FindAWay2Day”, combining heavy hitting 808 drum work with deeply satisfying vocal samples, a beyond groovy bassline and 80s Electro-Funk galore. “Something Inside Of Me” leans towards a classic US Deep Garage House blueprint, with sampled chord stabs, mesmerising vocal hooks and MPC style swung drum programming.

Over on the B-Side, jacking House meets Deep Detroit Techno on “Down All Day” with a frenzied, chopped and replayed vocal melody melding with lush and relaxing pads until the piano line enters and pushes the track into pure euphoria. Finally “Daywun” conjures memories of the best funk of the 1980s, propelled by a bass riff that weaves through the drum hits and smacks just right, layering it with chords that feel like driving through California’s highways at midnight and an Electro Hip hop B-Boy style rap sample. The EP is a perfect combination of production highlights from House music’s influences and a modern approach with the freedom of style and genre while never sacrificing quality.

After his strong debut on our label last year Idan Hana is back with a very special follow up! This spring, close after his release on Berlin’s “Aterral” label , he celebrates a deeper and more open, eclectic side of his sound. This EP consists of a wonderful journey into jazzy, electronic spheres. The opener Moon Desert is a floating piano house track with ever evolving rhythms and melodies, showcasing the vast creativity happening in Idan’s LA studio during many late night shifts.

Placed as a short break is the cinematic and joyful “Galaxy One Two Three” interlude, sustaining the mood and setting the tone for the last track on the A side called “Far from the Sun”. This break beat joint is reminiscent of classic trip hop combined with atmospheric deep house grooves, organs and synthesizer flutes, topped with a distinct vocal sample.

On the flip there is a very special extended remix of one of Idan’s debut EP tracks “Lo Fi Hi” by none other than Chicago’s finest Ron Trent. He reworked the original in his unique style and arrangement and elevates it to new heights by adding beautiful strings, guitar and keys. We couldn’t have dreamt of a better remix for this track and are so honoured to have him featured on our label and this new Idan Hana EP.

All tracks have been mastered by Salz Mastering in Cologne.
