Yes, yes! We are back with the latest Musty Mix and this one comes courtesy of our good friend Gap.

Calling Ljubljana home, Gap’s been diggin and playing records for the last 7 years and has developed a keen ear for the dreamy and groovy sound we love here at MHR. 

Recently joining outfits like od:vod, just us, Luckison and K4 club, Gap’s ever growing presence across the scene is something we’re buzzing to see and support, and expect much more of.

This mix is on the gentler side with a blend of modern sounds and we think it fits the seasonal shift to Autumn pretty damn beautifully.

Cartulis Live Mix Series #7 | Sohrab

For the next instalment of our Cartulis Live Mix Series, we’re thrilled to welcome Sohrab, a name synonymous with forward-thinking soundscapes and impeccable selection.

This mix was recorded in May 2024 at the @Colourfulinc party at @tagchengdu in Chengdu, China. Perched on the 21st floor of a building, TAG is a deeply underground venue.

Born in Trieste, Italy, with Iranian roots, and shaped by years spent in London’s underground scene, Sohrab embodies the fusion of diverse influences. As a DJ, his sets effortlessly weave through genres, delivering potent, futuristic, and deeply energetic performances. As a producer, his signature melodic flair has earned him recognition on labels like Kalahari Oyster Cult, Undersound, and The Comfort.

Sohrab’s journey through some of the finest parties and venues, Undersound, Art of Dark, Fold, Les Enfants, Mtkvarze, and, of course, Cartulis, has cemented his reputation as a perfectionist whose music speaks louder than words. His mix for this series captures that essence, delivering a snapshot of his dynamic artistry.

The Japanese DJ based in Berlin has deservedly garnered a reputation as a supremely cultured selector thanks to flawless sets and for being a curator of the Cabaret record label. 
His guest podcast is powerful and functional, with a modern sound rooted in classicism. Masda masters the art of reduction: his sound stretches from deep house to tech and electro, but a thread of artful minimalism runs through - stripped-back, modern, free of big breakdowns or in-your-face melodies. Its sound is crisp, groovy and clean but packs a sense of warmth that often eludes such stripped-down tracks.
Progressively structured and surgically mixed, this podcast is a true representation of DJ Masda’s exciting, untouchable style.
