Letting his superb selections and finely honed skills behind the decks do the talking for him, Unai Trotti emerged as one of our favourite DJs and curators in recent years. With the recent launch of two new Cartulis sub-labels, we caught up with Trotti to get the lowdown on his recent projects, playing in front of a crowd again and things to come, and he’s been so kind as to share with us, the recording of a set he played at Mutabor in Moscow, featuring 3.5 hours of brilliant transitions, pulsating tech groovers, proggy house and other ‘90s oriented goodness.

An accomplished artist, Elias Sternin is a name on the rise. This Uruguayan has, in recent times, become a much more regular fixture around Europe and beyond. With releases for the likes of Cupula Records, Mung Records, LeMaia, and then there is also Elias’ own label Ratiug Recordings. With his sound coming straight from his home country which seems to specialise in acid drenched house and techno Elias is also a very skilled digger. The result of his digging sessions is a refined sound that really sets him a part once he takes control of the DJ booth.

Going straight for the jugular from the off, Elias utilises his full tool kit of raw sine wave synth lines, earthquake inducing basslines, and pitched vocals but there is always a slight curve ball in the percussion. This is where his digging skills and Urugyiuan roots come into play as, regardless of the ferocity of the electronics there is always a little something that is not expected. This is the x-factor that will continue to shine a light on his name. This mix for InSession series is a true testament to this rising star.
