When we visited Record Loft in Berlin we fell in love with this classic record from Space and bought it. Back in Vienna we often listened to "Carry On, Turn me on" in our studio breaks, until we finally recorded and edited it. We also added some drumming, choirs, synths and
classic acapella cuts to spice it up a little.

After the very successful foray into split EPs, Luv Shack Records continues to explore this concept with LUV013. The EP sees upcoming duo Space Echo make a return after their smash hit "Soul Power", while the B-side is conducted by Wahlberliner ROTCIV.

"Come Back Home", the opening track by Space Echo, is a slowly building but effortlessly captivating piece of hypnotic house music with a raw funk attitude. The gently evolving synth line and the strong vocal hook are the spine of this anthemic track.

The seemingly laid back "Hangover" just oozes b-movie sleaze and might be Space Echos little hommage to 60's lounge music, with an array of distorted guitars and soft pads coming to good use. That is until the synth theme kicks in mid-track and turns the piece into a late night weapon.

Julian & Der Fux haben mit ihrem Debütalbum „Vanille“ ordentlich für Aufsehen gesorgt. Radiostationen, sowie Print- und Online-Medien waren begeistert. Die Hörer ebenso. Das letzte Jahr wurde standesgemäß mit Chartplatzierungen, ausführlichen Interviews und Features beendet. Das neue Jahr wird mit einer grandiosen Single eingeläutet.
Der Titeltrack „Vanille“ wird nun ausgekoppelt – ein funkelnder Hit, der die tanzbaren Dancefloor-Grooves des österreichischen Acts Julian & der Fux mit ordentlich Popappeal ausstattet. Knackige Beats und satte Basslines werden hier mit schillerndem Funk und kreischendem Pop kurzgeschlossen. Der Ohrwurm knabbert schon beim ersten Hören an den Gehörgängen. Julian & der Fux wissen eben wie man unwiderstehliche musikalische Zuckerl fabriziert. Nicht minder süß, sind die anderen Tracks des sechs Stücke umfassenden Releases. Spannende Remixes & Reworks verschiedenster Albumtracks gibt es hier als Draufgabe.
Das aus Bayern stammende Duo „Oberst & Buchner“ (Antime, Schönbrunner Perlen, etc.) hat aus dem Track „Alte Spuren (feat. Mimu)“ eine wunderbar düstere und dystopische Techno-Version gezimmert. Das ebenfalls aus Deutschland stammende Dreiergespann „T Raum“ hat „99 Cent“ von Julian & der Fux in eine deepe, sich hochschraubende Minimal-Nummer verwandelt. Der aus Paris stammende und in Berlin ansässige David Ducaruge aka Acid Washed verpasst „Vanille“ ein Kleid aus acid-lastigen Synthesizern und schubst den Track mit Schwung Richtung Dancefloor. Im Anschluss transformiert die Wiener-Formation Space Echo (Luv Shack Records), die unlängst auf dem Oliver Koletzki-Label Light My Fire veröffentlichte, die erste Album-Single „Mischduft (feat. Hermes)“ in eine wohlig-warme Disco-Version mit Piano-Schlagseite. Abgerundet wird die Veröffentlichung von „Vanille“ im „Club Edit“. Ein stimmiges Release-Paket, bei dem Radios, Hörer, DJs und Tänzer auf ihre Kosten kommen.

The return of time travelling disco afficionados Space Echo is immanent, and their 3rd contribution to the Luv Shack catalogue is a very special one indeed. The three tracks on the 'Rare Function EP' are boasting with dusty 70s blues magic!

The first track 'Go Down' is somewhat more akin to earlier Space Echo tracks, with a disco loop that steadily builds in the background, funky house drumming and a big beefy bassline. However the gospel vocals and the evolving synth strings in the second break take ' Go Down' to another level of dancefloor goodness.

'Rare Function' sees Space Echo take a moody excursion into southern funk. With an insanely addictive rhodes hook, shimmering strings and a soothing vocal line that hits right in the guts, this piece is well suited to liven up any house set. 

The final track is called 'Rainbow Power' and its probably the most uncanny Space Echo track to date. Its a full on party rendition of a lesser known early 70s funk piece that just blasts off after being introduced to a fat acid line! 

The EP is a testament to the musical development of the Space Echo project and we're excited to hear what the future holds.

In Space, it has been said, no-one can hear you scream, yet if you listen carefully you will hear a distinct Space Echo.
The two gentlemen behind this Space Echo ( est: 2013 ) are the Austrian artists caTekk & Lee Stevens and within their echo are elements of classic 70ties, 80ties Disco & New Wave with just a touch of John Carpenter and, of course, this Space Echo is re-produced by their trusty robot friend Roland.
Epic in their production layout, their music contains all the ingredients one needs for the work out on the dancefloor, at the same time a layered structure of the art of DJing can and should be noticed. The element of surprise, an important factor in all good DJ sets, is obvious in their productions. Their production and live set up is a combination of both old school analogue and new day digital with caTekk standing for pefectionism behind the machines whilst Lee Stevens adds Space Echo`s distinct, polished roughness.
The music from Space Echo has indeed left an echo in the online world: No.1 in the Juno charts with their tune "Soul Power" for over 3 months, this piece of music is one of Juno`s top 5 ever selling House tunes. On the Austrian Radio station FM4, their remix for Austra´s "Home" also reached #1 in FM4s weekly music charts.
Space Echo have already performed in L.A , Berlin ( Wilde Renate ) and at the Frequency Festival in St.Polten, Austria . Musically, an Austrian duo with one ear in the past and one ear pointing towards the future, something unique to look out for in the coming months.
