April 16th sees the inaugural Scottish House & Disco Festival landing at SWG3 in Glasgow, we are going to be covering the festival heavily in the coming month talking to many of the artists appearing at the event.

First up is Irish collective @queenanddisco and we can't think of anyone better to start proceedings. We have been keeping an eye on these renowned party starters for a few years now as they continue to build a reputation for their high octane mix sessions be it from their live events or their lockdown streams during the height of Covid.

Their appearance at the Scottish House & Disco Festival gives us the perfect opportunity to get them in for a long overdue chat about their career to date and what we can expect when we catch them live. To top it all off they have put together a barnstormer of a mix to kick off our festival mixtape series. Hailing from Massachusetts, Ben Adams GMGN project has been consistently doing some great work on the nu-disco and house scene with a host of quality releases of labels such as Midnight Riot, Duchesse, Liztomania and more and has always come up with some awesome cross-over funky business. His work has a real French house vibe attached to it and Hot Digits Music boss Fingerman has been after a release from this guy in a long time. “Flame The Fans” EP is a labour of love for the producer and features some of Ben’s best work kicking off with “A Taste Of Space”, a floaty balearic banger with a baseline to die for and some superb sax licks. “Oh Hello” goes all mid-tempo old school house of us for another infectious number before he ramps things up for some peak-time funky house gear with “Match Time”… Pure banger! “Flame the Fans” in its original form is a looping Daft Punk style broken beat anthem in the making before label boss Fingerman turns the track on its head for his Jackin’ House remix combining disco loops, razor sharp Dj Sneak style beats and that all important drop!

The Black Light Disco Show bell was ringing loudly again as it returned to the myhouseradio.fm airwaves for another 2 hours of heavenly sonic vibes. 

This week, it’s the turn of our residents Goz and Esteban to open up the dressing up box here in BLD Towers and put some fancy duds on befitting for the show ahead. 

First up is Spin City Head Honcho and BLD stalwart, Goz who will be navigating the first hour with the wind in his sails and cutlass in between his teeth. Expect gems from Eddie C, Les Inferno, Paul Older and Hotmood to be pulled out of the swag bag. 

For the second hour, Esteban takes the helm with a fine selection of sea shanties including tracks from I Gemin, Tech Support, Corrado Alunni, Vyktor Nova, Brothers In Arts and Sammy Deuce to name but a few.

It’s time again for Killer Boogie to grace the myhouseradio.fm airwaves, beaming the fourth instalment of the De Gama led spectacular right into your homes, workplaces and or glamping tent! And this week, he has landed a very, very special guest - the one, the only Lego Edit! 

In a team up very much having us drooling here in BLD Towers, De Gama takes the controls first with a set bristling with funky goodness. We’re going down the rabbit hole with this one, folks so better strap in for this ride! Featuring tracks from Domo Domo, Andromeda Orchestra, Da Lukas, Moodena and Ferry Ultra -  be prepared to be taken hostage by De Gama’s deadly Killer Boogie.  

De Gama’s guest for this episode needs no introduction. A producer, DJ and all round talented cookie, Lego Edit has been at the top of his game for a long time. Hailing from Italy, his mastery of jazz, funk and afro edits is second to none. It’s no overstatement to say that he’s been one of the most influential producers of the last half decade. 

We've long said that a team up between De Gama and Lego Edit is a match made in heaven. Listeners on Monday were blown away, and you will be too.

For this week's instalment of Spin City I'm absolutely delighted to welcome back Spin City Royalty, Lee Gorbutt aka iMFROMULL. As a former resident of the show, Lee has spun for many hours with us here, so it's amazing to have him back. I've also realised it's been way too long so you can expect more of him in the fairly near future. 

I kicked the show off this week with a bunch of new and unreleased things that are doing it for me just now. For the second hour, Lee will treat you to an absolute masterclass in proper disco. Every track an original and most around 45 years old, put together by one of the best and nicest guys on the scene today.
