Algorithm is a collection of ten songs spanning ten years of songwriting. It is the first in a series of albums drawing on my deep and ever-growing archive of material.

The album features six new and unreleased songs, as well as new mixes of recent Space March singles, and a completely new version of the past single – Saturn’s Sun, with “Again” appended to the title.

Algorithm is grounded in 80s-influenced Synthpop, but sometimes dips into Synthwave and Britpop. I cover topics like the influence of social media, fear of change, time, the nature of art and life, egocentricity, nostalgia, anxiety and failure – you know, the usual pop stuff!!

Inspired by Kraftwerk's legendary 'Computer World' album, '1010011' is a sprightly synthpop tune, and possibly the only song to have ever been sung in binary code.

American Girl is a satirical song about fame and society’s fascination with TV pop stars. “A feeling so familiar that we feel at home, Like déjà vu coated in glistening chrome” is my favourite lyric and quintessential criticism.

Eye For An Eye is a 007-like theme song and a vocal duet with Electra-city. The song explores cinematic style themes such as truth, deception, justice and survival.

Space Cowboy is a song about aspirations and their ability to shape us, even if those aspirations are unfulfilled. The importance of this shaping over the achievement of the aspiration is the philosophical proposition of the song. The immortality of music is used to justify my own aspirations.

Do You Remember My Name? is a song about growing-up in the 1980s obsessing over Duran Duran and other pop music. It’s about discovering girls on the public transport system and the strategic adjustment of one’s school uniform to hide otherwise embarrassing moments.
