Business As Usual November 2021: Luke Solomon & Make A Dance

As a life-long insomniac, I've learned to lean into the time of night when everyone else has gone to sleep. The overstimulation of the day dissolves into a slower pace when I can think more clearly, especially around matters that concern humanity. Imagine the sepia tone of street lights against wet pavement as you drive the sleepless city streets in search of answers to the questions that keep us up at night. As delirium passes into euphoria, the sun rises to greet us and the new day. Consider this a nighttime drive-time meditation.

With the "Chocolate Bar EP" recently out on Grande Buffo Records, Space Ranger are now firing up for the release of their debut album on Lovemonk, set for early 2011.
Featuring Captn K on vocals, the German outfit get the perfect mix of house and disco on this "Nightmoves", with ace remixes by Brighton boogie banger BlackLodge and Madrid's rising star Pional.

Italian DJ, producer and remixer, Dave Mathmos, has been deejaying since 1981, known for his signature blend of Italo Disco, Disco, Funk, Soul, Deep House and Nu-Disco. Now based in Adelaide, Australia, Dave is not a veteran, he's earned the title of a maestro of the editorial sound, using decades of experience and an undying passion for the craft to define his undeniable musical style. 

Taken from his bio: ‘After several years of honing his craft and putting together solid chemistry in his musical approach, Dave’s name has become more familiar throughout his scene and has begun garnering a positive reception throughout it. His most notable works are his edits and remixes that include nostalgic songwriting arrangements, grooves and an innovative modern approach that has successfully expanded his artistic merit in contributing noteworthy work for both the Australian and European markets.’ 

Slow Mo Lounge founder, Kongisto, had this to say about the collaborative mix: After being introduced to Dave Mathmos’ unique musical and mixing style, I am humbled to be playing disco edits alongside a producer of such high calibre. Dave says, ‘no boundaries, let the music speak’, I couldn’t agree with him more.’  

Currently, Dave Mathmos releases can be found on an array of Australian and European labels. His production credits include *Hot Digits Music, *Lido Cosmo,*Slightly Transformed, *Too Slow to Disco, *Verdi Grooves, *Selected RhythmRecords, *Digital Rebel and *Lugano Like Music (to name a few). 

The mix is another 3 hours of disco edits and exclusives from labels across the world.

Space Ranger was founded by Florian Pflueger, Felix Brucklacher, Rino Spadavecchia, all former members and founders of the the DJ-/ producer team Dublex Inc. and the cult-label Pulver Records (launch platform for artists like Motor City Drum Ensemble). They lifted off in 2010 with their debut single Star Wash EP featuring the slow-house bomb “Herbal Cake” which immediately reached pole position in the Juno sales charts and stayed there for several weeks. Space Ranger and the associated label Space Ranger Records is today only managed by Florian Pflüger.
