Humanity is addicted to time.
We chase it, hoard it, kill it, and mourn its loss.
We measure our worth in hours, our lives in years, our memories in moments.
Time has become our master, ticking, pulsing, reminding us always that something is slipping away.

And yet, time is not fixed. It bends with gravity, stretches with perception.
An hour in agony lasts a lifetime; a summer of joy slips by in a breath.
We treat time as a currency, but forget it is a construct 
a ghost we all agree to see.

Still, it matters.
Not because time is real, but because what we do with it is.
In the end, time is a mirror. It reflects what we choose to fill it with.

But time also decays.
It wears away at the body, at memory, at meaning.
It rots, it rusts, it erodes.
Nothing escapes its touch... not love, not greatness, not even light.

So if we must be obsessed,
let it be not with the ticking,
but with the living.
