After our summer break we're back with a special episode from the amazing Scottish Dj and producer Deepbass.

The mix is an extract from his set during 'Art Bei Ton meets The Gods Planet' event at Suicide Club (July 10th 2022).
This recording very well represents the ideal expressions of hypnotic techno, managing to express energy and peacefulness through its bright and atmospheric tones.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland. His passion for electronic music started from a young age where he would spend his weekends in record stores hunting for music, he discovered artists like Speedy J and Jeff Mills who really opened his eyes to the world of techno.

He started producing music in 2008 and from there his sound evolved, always minimalistic, elements of ambient, hypnotic rhythms and deep rolling bassline's.

In 2010 he launched his label Informa Records as a platform to express himself and to explore further into his brand of deep techno.

Just above the valley diffused in the fluffed-up clouds arises colourful towers. The receding mist opens up high castle walls enveloped by wandering garden paths. Wherever you go, whatever you lay eyes on – greenery is dancing with the sky of blue. The sun has made it under the tree canopy to illuminate overflowing basins full of fire-red fish while trickling down water tickles lovingly ears mercilessly worn by the city.
Indeed ears can rest from here up to the welcoming flute of waves heard just beyond the horizon. The flute heard so recently and at the same time anticipated for more than six years – Luigi Tozzi finally leaves an imprint on Black Wave’s sandy shores. Raised in Rome, the DJ and Producer takes influence from the timeless Italian sound, which he’s further developed with an emotional, swirling, dubby atmosphere. There’s an unmistakable texture to his productions.
Over the last years, @luigitozzi has been making a name for himself as one of the go-to DJs for his distinct brand of techno that draws both from ambient and club music. @hypnus, @mentalmodern, @nonseries, @outis-music and @012twelve – Luigi has kept his output within a close family of labels. His commitment to sound alongside his pensive and considered development as an artist has brought Luigi Tozzi to where he is today.

It is, once again, our biggest pleasure to bring you podcast #160, this time from the wonderful talent, Alexskyspirit (Circular Limited, Edit Select, Aarden Records, Planet Rhythm et al). 

What makes this edition extra special is that it is formed entirely of the Greece born and raised artist’s own material - including some personal Alexyskyspirit favourites, as well as some stunning unreleased tracks.

For us, Alexskyspirit’s music is sheer beauty through and through - a delicate dance between darkness and light, melancholy and hope, paving the way for deep introspection, if you allow it. It’s the depth, mystery, emotion, and allure of his work that has continuously captured our attention time and time again, just as with this magnetic journey recorded for On the 5th Day. 

When listening, it’s may be no surprise to learn that Alexskyspirit’s inspiration is city traffic, night, winter, rainfall, and architecture - for us emanating a pensive mood that lends itself to the type of deep introspection we find ourselves in when immersed in Alexskyspirit’s creative outputs. 

This mix is no exception - a deep, emotive journey along dark city roads at night, rain falling, the light from vehicles of fellow drivers dancing with the rain in the darkness ahead, a mood of melancholy, but also deep connection and meaning filling you as you cruise forward - no longer attaching onto the goal of your journey, but instead losing yourself in the moment, in a dream-like state.

Well that's us anyway! ;)

Beka Zakradze aka Petit Astronaute is a Georgian artist who has been developing his style since 2010 paving a trademark hypnotic sound with euphoric elements.
A regular in Georgian electronic scene, you can easily catch him in Tbilisi, Batumi or Kutasi, where he is resident at BUDE club and the artistic director of the newborn label of the club, BUDE Records.
But Beka also crossed borders making his debuts in Berlin, Barcelona, Sofia and Baku.
He boasts a prolific discography with a wide variety of releases across some of the finest deep techno imprints around the globe.
Beka is member of the labels BAHN· Records and Khoros, but his productions have also been released in labels such as Circular Limited, Aarden Records, DNC Limited, NFEREE, Ordinamento Selettivo, Artscope, Space Textures or Postdynamic.

An electronic music duo from Macedonia, currently based in Skopje. The name Binary Thoughts may speak for itself, but there is a much deeper meaning embedded within. The ancestral way of thinking has always been 'binary'. To understand nature and all its phenomena, we made a world of oppositions (day/night, sun/moon, male/female). Where the law of "all or nothing” rules, there is no in-between. But the reality is indeed always more complex and more interconnected than what our 'perception' of the world suggests.
This perception beyond this “all or nothing” connected Ana Bogatinovska and Jovana Gjorgievska. 

At first strangers to each other, they met at a music festival in their native country; And after a long discussion about electronic music, they've decided to do a project that will connect their somewhat different but similar taste in electronic music. Their melancholic, delicate and hypnotic sounds use 'binary thinking' as a motor to press on to a third term or a higher category that represents a transcending reconciliation or unity: where thesis and antithesis are always harnessed to yield a synthesis. Where seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary: Yin and Yang. 

Currently, they are exploring the vast horizons of deep and hypnotic soundscapes intending to create their unique blend of creativity to start producing their music.

Cosmic dust floats through endless space, shrouding the secrets of the universe in silence. Sometimes a strangely textured planetary surface emerges or a glimpse of a colourful, luminous nebula shining from afar strikes the earthbound eye and lets us know of the omnipresent existence of so many worlds we do not yet know. The Alchemical Theory is there to open the doors of perception and reflect the chemistry of the unknown.

Formed in 2018, as a project of three like minded italian producers it has been influenced by raw modular sounds paired with a love for deeper atmospheres. This distinct aesthetics quickly earned them a wide-ranging reputation, allowing them to release their own creations on labels such as Affin, Circular Limited, Norite, Illegal Alien, Oslated, Fur:ther Sessions and many more.
