Looking in

We observe from a distance, looking through windows illuminated from within—yellow squares breaking into the night. 

We see a dinner table set for a meal, an empty chair, a man stretching, and a woman laughing on the phone. These moments are not meant for us; they are offered freely in the quiet theatre of the evening. As we pass, we collect these fragments: gestures, glows, and stillness. 

Dub techno unfolds similarly—observing without intruding, echoing lives we'll never truly understand. Each track serves as a pane of glass, with each sound reflecting the rhythm of someone else's life.

Bio/
I create experimental underground sound as an electronic musician, producer, and remixer, focusing primarily on Dub Techno, Ambient, and Deep genres. I have collaborated with various labels, including Crossfade Sounds, ECOUL SND, Slope Point, Superordinate Dub Waves, Secret Domain, Echoshapes, Hello Strange, Proton Radio, Pirahna Siberia Dub, Liberty Rhythm, Seesaw Records, and Techenie. My sound features a unique approach to detail, creating a distinctive and recognisable style influenced by various musical genres. "Cosmic vibrations combine with modern electronic rhythms, drawing you into a deep atmospheric sound, where hypnotic patterns infinitely envelop and transport you into free space."

Another great guestmix was put on the table recently. Someone I didn't recogniced before, but so happy he reached out to me: The Silentist.

This artist is a vinyl collector and DJ from the South West of France, based in Amsterdam since 2017. With a deep love for records that span many genres. And this mix showcases a wide range of music of his very favourite — dub techno.

Some personal words from the artist about this selection: "Spanning over more than three decades of the genre, the set opens with a 1994 classic and closes with a fresh record from 2025, tracing a sonic arc through dub techno's evolution. The 14th destination on our journey across the musical galaxy takes us to the planet under the control of Anton Lanski. Hailing from Izhevsk, Russia, Anton is an artist we’ve been huge fans of for many years. An Artist that has featured on our shows and mixes for almost as long as we’ve been doing them. He is truly an artist with a unique sound that has been carved out over many years at the top of the game. His productions are deep, Dubby and atmospheric.   

With such a wealth of musical talent at his fingertips, Anton is  able to showcase is talents across multiple fields. Under his Gespleu alias he has releases slow-mo/chill/house records. He is also part of an electonic-pop/ambient band  called Cetranger.

Bio/
Upwellings is a Dub-Techno project created by the protean musician Vincent Raude. Cultivating a minimalist approach to techno and a strong affinity for micro-textures, he produces hypnotic music that draws its roots and techniques from Jamaican dub masters. Numerous EPs have been released on various labels since 2008. These productions have earned him the support of artists such as Alexkid, Laurent Garnier, Cio D'or, etc...and he has been working with labels Telrae ), MOSHItaka, Tiefenrausch, Spclnch, Greyscale, Dimensions Recordings for EPs that were very popular in the Dub-Techno's network. Performing exclusively live, from clubs to festivals, from Berlin to Montreal, it is on stage that Upwellings gives its whole meaning to the word "Dub."

About Miroir:

Miroir, aka David P, is a French DJ based in Saint Nazaire, on the west coast of France.
According to David, it all started in 1992 with the discovery of the world of raves and acid house parties and the appearance of the first vinyl record stores, where he spent a large part of his time looking for new releases. His first purchases were from labels like Axis Synewave and djax-up Beats. Then, collectives of DJs based in Nantes regularly invited him to launch their techno
evenings, where he played progressive and hypnotic mixes. He was known back then as Dj Dav,and today, it's through Miroir, French for Mirror, that he wishes to share his thoughts and his Deep Dub and Techno influences. For Our 16th trip around the musical cosmos we welcome to the controls a German artist who we have been a fan of for some time. With Releases on some of the top dub techno labels including , Greyscale, OHM Series and Vuo Records, we are proud to be able to host this mix from Armin Bender.

Armin is an artist who has been involved in the dub techno scene for 30 years, he is a passionate Vinyl collector, DJ and producer. An understated artist who goes about his work in a quiet and professional manner. 

This is summed up in his short but sweet biography - 

"Mind rave, goose bumps, deepness, groove, a smile on the face. Thats what its all about... No more words necessary, no history, no credits, no stereotypes, just the music that I love, preferably on vinyl... Peace!"

We thank Armin for his contribution to the series, its another fantastic mix filled some some audible delights including tracks from Dana Ruh, Pablo Bolivar, Matt & Mark Thibideau as well as the beautiful early track by DJ Sandwich on OGE White. klordop - hello strange podcast #602

For over 20 years Martin Jarl was something of an anomaly in my record collection. At the turn of the century, I was largely buying records on the likes of Deepchord, Salz, Nurture, Bluetrain & Minus THX. I'd also been following the emergence of some labels pushing the more minimal sound for a couple of years, the likes of Out to Lunch, Playhouse & Raum...musik. After the closure of Atlas in Soho I habitually shopped in Smallfish; and I remember adding Martin's Weetabix EP to the listening pile. Upon hearing it I immediately bought two copies, and for the next two decades considered it one of my 'desert island discs'. 

By 2024 both copies were hammered and full of surface noise, and what started out as a tentative ask for some wav files, turned into an opportunity to re-release a track from one of my favourite records. Frankly I could've gone for any of the four tracks. Whether Martin knew to what extent or not; including a remaster of the title track in last year's V/A compilation was a really special moment in lempuyang's journey. Naturally I also asked him if he'd be up for recording a mix for the series. Martin is anything but prolific, and good things truly come to those who wait.

Born in the 80's, real name Marco, from teen age started to go to clubs in Lisbon, Portugal.
Allways exposed to all genres of music since childhood, founded in electronic music a way to produce his own sounds, mainly focus in the techno spectrum. Start working in a music store in 1998, as same as home DJing and collecting vinyl until today.
