“Fluff” stands as a 12-track EP of raw recordings where SpaceyY taps back into his punk rock roots. Known for mixing lo-fi hip hop with psychedelia, SpaceyY ventures into new soundscapes reminiscent of pop punk, garage rock and bedroom pop. Mixed and mastered by Nick Barton of Acid House Studios, the project is also SpaceyY’s third EP. 

Touching on themes of identity, self love, coming of age, and relationships, “Fluff” is SpaceyY’s soundtrack to the past 8 months. With a self-prescribed “addiction for diction”, SpaceyY was fond of literature growing up. He enjoyed writing for the sake of writing, playinging around with figurative language. Can you picture yourself in a highschool English class learning how to write an essay or story? Do you remember any teachers telling you to get rid of the fluff? You know, all that filler or flowery language that makes your paragraphs look bigger but doesn’t really add to the main ideas? Well, SpaceyY decided to take this idea and run with it. 

With a lot of uncertainty around the global state of the world, growing into adulthood, and moving into Los Angeles, SpaceyY embraced the chaos of his daily life and translated it into these soundwaves, often asking “So what’s the fluff in my life?” Fair-weathered friends, a summer fling, a new habitat?
