We can dwell for an hour or more about his long career. 
To keep it short, we can say he played just about everywhere.
He’s resident at Kozzmozz and produces under his @MarchingMachines alias. But no fucks given. His motto is "Love the past, play the future" And that's exactly what he does in this dark and fat Electro mix. 

He made a jam filled with earthshaking wide bass, filthy vocoder swags and raw broken electro patterns. Enough to vibrate the 3 meters thick concrete walls of hidden clubs.

Spacid live @ Kozzmozz, CLR edition.

This a recording of my set, 24-03-23 at Kompass Klub, Ghent. A devil's drive at my favorite dystopia, sharing the decks with Ancient Methods and Parrish Smith.  The dark arts crafted into a 144 minutes mix full of industrial stomping Techno, iced EBM topped with some Synth wave.

Look what I found on my hard drive! The recording of my set at Peep @ Lokerse Feesten from last summer. This is what I played in a predominantly UK house line-up. 
You can expect some Detroit-influenced deep house, Disco,  music with soul,  Chicago House and some jacking Acid. In short an eclectic house set with a solid red line running though it. Good stuff!  So I couldn't keep this from you. I’m sure we can use some of these summer sounds in this dark weather.

Spacid @ Peep, Lokerse feesten.

At 19 Years Kozzmozz I played the closing set instead of the usual warm-up. Variety is the spice of life, so that got me extra motivated. On the line-up that night there was Marcel Dettmann, Speedy J, Cari Lekebusch, Kr!z, PSYK, Recondite Live and Karenn Live.  Since I was playing after Karenn it was hard to slow down the floor. so I unleashed my techno devils. 
This resulted in a rather hard and rough techno set with a mind-blowing audience to play to. To thank you all for your energy, here's my set online.

Sometimes there are gigs where the vibe is just right. You're playing prime time and you can even pitch down the tempo. I love those moments. You can go deep and conceptual... 
This is what I did when I played for Kazzino at Piaf in Antwerp.  It was a cozy, warm and fun techno party. I played a 2,5 set and this recording is half of that. You can expect a techno set with a quality selection and proper tunes where phasing create a psychedelic and captivating atmosphere.

Acid till you jack - Spacid mix

Once upon a time there was an anniversary party of Belgium's hottest and longest techno concept, Kozzmozz. It took place on a boat sailing in the Gent port area, a place that breath techno. Only 600 people were invited to make this trip.  I played a 2-hour warm-up set. The atmosphere was magical, the earth was far away, and the rest is history...

This is my live recorded mix set at Kozzmozz, The Man From Tomorrow edition, on 23-04-2016.  I had the honor to warm-up the crowd for techno king Jeff Mills.

I built it up slowly to a peek and back, in order to hand over the controls to Jeff Mills which enabled him to create his own space.

Antisocial

<p>The last edition of Pingwing was a blast, once again!
The venue was packed and it was without a doubt the best and nicest italo disco party in Belgium.
Luckily I recorded live the first 90 min's of the +2 hour set,
so you can have an idea on how things went down.
The reaction of the crowd was great so they loved it and I have to say that I'm pretty happy with the result.
So there's no way I could keep this from you. The mix is sexy and steaming hot.
It slowly builds up just like having good sex on the dancefloor somewhere in Rimini in 1983.

Sesso matto al Pingwing - Spacid mixxx

Here's a Spacid recording from back in 1996, recorded live at the Funky Green Aliens party no 6 "Alien Frequencies", which took place in a auditorium at the faculty of Agriculture from the University of Ghent.  Like most FGA parties, the place was packed. Techno was still an underground phenomenon back then and was just starting to break through.  The FGA organization which I founded, wreaked havoc and threw (sometimes illegal) techno parties in Ghent, Antwerp and West Flanders.

I was already playing with an effect module back then, although Pioneer was not yet present on the pro dj market. Rodec was still ruling, but I used a guitar effect module with some self-made effects. Listening to his now, I realise that they weren't as fine-tuned as now, but changing the sound of a track through effects was quite groundbreaking back then.

In the beginning of the mix you'll hear a high pitched tone, which was the sound ofthe  tv test card of back then. It was being projected behind me. This way the dancefloor could experience the test live and so they did... That high pitched sound at a high volume was highly irresponsible looking back, but back then there were no volume restrictions. I still like those anarchy days. Anyway...

How the mix was recorded is still a mystery to me. I can't image releasing a mix with two audible errors in it, but it is what it is, and it's fun to listen to this again.

It's always fun to open for Belgium's biggest techno church Kozzmozz. 
The atmosphere is always intense and the line-ups are always fat! That night, Robert Hood, Mark Broom, Shed live and Kr!z were playing as well. 
You could sense the electricity in the air.

It's a pleasure to take the crowd on a journey deep into space. You welcome them gently with soothing beats, you slowly invade people's minds to make their heads move and afterwards you aim for the feet and the rest of the body. You build it up till the place is on fire! From zero to full throttle with the engine in afterburn. You gotta love it and I can't say I don't.
So... mission accomplished. Judge for yourself. Expect to hear a tightly mixed spaced out selection of deep and dark techno.

This set sounds like a stroll in a snowed-in military cemetery somewhere in Stalingrad. 
The mix was recorded live at Kozzmozz 15-04-2017 as a warm-up for Headless Horseman & Ancient Methods b2b Vatican Shadow.
You can expect to hear an industrialized build-up of toxic techno that might be a bit heavy on the stomach. 
Aural narcotics for these cold winter nights.

Der Klang der Kälte

On 24-07-2010 for the third time in a row I played at the Kozzmozz stage of the biggest and best Belgian electronic music festival Tomorrowland (www.tomorrowland.be).
I had the honour to warm up for what could be called an impressive line-up: 
Len Faki, Derrick May, Jeff Mills, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Carl Craig &amp; Radioslave, Robert Hood.
Playing long warm-up sets is something I just love to do, gradually seducing the people to start swaying on the dancefloor, taking them with me on a journey where they go from gently moving to going apeshit in a packed room where the atmosphere is electric and intense!
This recording contains the first 1,5 hour of the +2 hour set I played. 
The last 30 minutes are more dancefloor material than listening material. 
I prefer to keep that for the people who were actually there. 
They will certainly remember how that sounded like :-)

Spacid @ Tomorrowland 2010 mix

When you come back home after an open air gig and you regret not having recorded your set, you dive in your studio and try to reconstruct the mix.
This of course doesn't work. The result is a mix that reflects the atmosphere and has the main tracks of the gig, but still sounds different.
Well this is such a mix, recorded after the Nomade open air edition.

Nomade

With this mix I welcomed the visitors at Pingwing IV party - Maccaroni Radio (06/04/2012)

This mix would be the perfect soundtrack for a trip with a hot playmate in an 80's Alfa Romeo cabrio, cruising along the Italian coastline,  up to the mountains, on a beautiful day, looking at sunny beaches populated by bikini's and tight shorts ... The sun on your skin, the wind in your hair, enjoying the ride...
Stopping now and then to drink a fine glass of wine... 

Anyway, this was the journey I took people on at Pingwing IV. Undoubtedly one of the best italo parties in Belgium.
So here are the first 90 minutes of the 140-minute set.  You can expect a nice blend between old and new italo with a deep cosmic edge.
The rest of the set (the peak time dancefloor moment) will be played only in the minds of the people who were actually there.

Thanks to all the party people who joined us on this trip. You created the perfect atmosphere!

Viaggio al Pingwing - Spacid Mixxx

Some time ago, I played at Acid Attack XL at the Cherrymoon, an acid concept from mixmaster  Franky Jones. Playing at a legendary club like the Cherrymoon has to be something special and it was clear I couldn't  just play a normal acid set.
With the club's past in mind I played a hardcore acid set with a ravy side to it.
I thought that direction would be perfect and looking at the crowd's reactions they agreed.
So expect to hear a hurricane of powerful acid that will hit hard between the ears. Be warned...

Darkroom shadows

Nowadays, I'm glad to see that Italo Disco has found again its way to the new generations. The old releases are being rediscovered and these last few years many new italo inspired tracks have been released.
Just like in my Radius days I find myself drawn back into the Italo stream.  I've never stopped following and collecting it, so it's about time I upload a mix.
        
Some time ago I played with David Vunk at Ampere. This is the recording of the first 90 minutes. A mix with a focus on more recent italo sounds, spiced up with some classics. Expect a moody set that builds up smoothly and moves from your ears to your feet, guaranteed to spin you into a dizzy state of delirium.

Studio Ibiza - Theme from the sun mix

This mix is a live recording of my set at the superb Kozzmozz presents Drumcode party.

It's always a pleasure to play the opening set for Kozzmozz. I love to start with an empty room and get the vibe to a packed room about to explode. But taking people on a musical journey is not that easy. You need to work on it. I usually start slowly and aim for the heads. Once the people start nodding their heads to the beat then we move on. So then I go for the feet and once those are moving, I finally I aim for the whole body and pretty much take possession of their brains. This takes some skill and experience to keep your grip throughout this phase, but it's very rewarding to see the whole crowd go nuts. It's a game I just love to play.

Somewhere In The Night / At Fuse

This is a Special DJ mix for the celebration of 10 years of Squadron the hottest party concept  from the island of Malta.
10 years ago I was their first international guest and ever since I've had the pleasure to be a guest at Squadron's parties now and then. 
So, to celebrate the occasion, here's a Happy birthday mix.

When I recorded the mix it was a cold and grey day in Belgium. So I thought I'd share this with my Maltese friends and send them some digital pollution in the form of Acid Rain. Rain is rare over there, so I'm sure they enjoy it :-)
 
Anyway, you can expect 1,5 hour of solid  & building Acid Techno.

Spacid Mix - Acid Rain over Malta - 10 Years of Squadron.

The previous Kozzmozz edition was sold out as usual and it was a damn good party. 
I played there together with Len Faki, Perc (live), Function and Kr!z. 
As a resident, I had the honour to warm up the room like I usually do. 
This is something that I love to do and in all modesty I can say that you hear in the mix.

To thank the fantastic crowd who joined me and lost themselves in the journey, here's my set I played that night.

In the beginning there was Jack ...

Today, I give you a special Old Skool House  mix, one that goes back to my early days.
These were some of the tracks that influenced me a lot and they most certainly have contributed a lot to who I am today. 
Back in the day, only a small and select open-minded scene really appreciated the electronic music. 
Me and my friends used to play these records on repeat in someone’s attic and when hitting the nightlife, we would wear the craziest outfits. 
The outside world considered us as weirdo’s
Yeah! The good old days…

But as the past is the future, Deep House and Garage House have been again on a rise these last years and some truly creative and legendary tracks are being released. 
And, as always, the future is digging back to the source and many new tracks are trying to bring back the 90’s sound. 
But truly, nothing beats the originals, the raw sound that paved the way for today’s sound.
And so, because we won’t forget ... this mix.
Let’s hope I can find the time to make a series out of these: I could play this stuff for several nights without playing a record twice… 

Anyway, I really enjoyed a lot recording this mix. I hope you will enjoy it too.

Sterile Emptiness

Today he is resident at Kozzmozz, Belgium’s longest running techno party.  And even though he’s part of this legendary celebration for ages, his Retro Acid Residency is in the running even longer.
Spacid is promoting promoting electronical music since the early 90’s but never ties down to one particular style. He thinks outside the box and takes you to a variety of moods.  He understands how to adapt a range of atmospheres depending on the venue, people and mood. Both his reverence for the past and his quest for innovation transpire in his work as a dj. His thirst for renewal is illuminated by his passion for music, which keeps him sharp. 
Together with Dimitri Andreas, he's Marching Machines. As producers, they’re exploring the boundaries of Electro, House, Dark disco, Italo and EBM.  Their love for electronical machine manipulation is key and has its output on labels like Correspondant, Rotten City records, Opilec-music, Why people dance, Nein and Wrong Era records.            
               
Next to his love for music, Spacid loves green beans and koala bears. He's feeling judge-y when he finds the time to dust off his vinyl stock and he is an avid collector of in-flight sick bags. In 2014, he won the prestigious Tuvaluan Lacemaking championship in and is also an amateur surgeon.
