We had the pleasure of taking you from the night into sunrise through many sub-genres in our record collection. It felt so good having the freedom to craft the set exactly how we wanted on a setup that had been perfectly tweaked by Lyra Audio + crew over the course of 2 days.   

We spent around 6 months planning this event. Everything from the lighting (@seanclarke) to the sound, personally applying for a TEN to use the space (that’s another story altogether) and how the event would run.
 
When you have all the these other variables running alongside an event it can be difficult to lock into the set at your own party but this time everything worked out and we’re really excited to share the memory of this special night. 

Thanks to everyone that made it down and helped in anyway, it’ll always stay with us, this one <3

Leading us on a tension-packed trip with subtle technical mixing, escaping reality for a brief but ecstatic two hours. From spaced-out synth work to deep rolling bass, and storytelling at its finest. Freddy K, BASEMENT’s latest resident, takes over for BASEMENT 009. The KEY Vinyl label boss has been responsible for more than a few outstanding nights at the club, including our first-ever all-night-long set. If you know his name, you know his reputation: Freddy K is a bonafide underground hero, with a devotion to true-school techno that can legitimately  be called “uncompromising.” In this mix, he opens up a portal into another world, taking us deep into the heart of the spacious, psychedelic sound that is his calling card.

This year, the spanish techno legend Oscar Mulero will return to the stage at rural, and we are happy to share the recording of his closing set at “rural at New Acao” in 2022.

This three-hour raging techno set guided the audience to the most intense and deeper world in the otherworldly main floor of “New Acao”, a gorgeous Showa-era building overlooking the sea.

For the past fifteen years, Rotterdam-based DJ and producer Benny Rodrigues alias ROD has been carving out a lane of his own in the realm of contemporary techno. Constantly looking to redefine his barriers and enhance his sound design skills, Dona has been plumbing the depths of Electronic music, ranging from Jungle and Drum Bass to Acid and Techno by passing thru Ambient and Electronics. 
Proudly supporter of the vinyl format, he runs a record shop in Bari - South of Italy (EXP RECORDS), which is now an important base for the local scene.
