As often extensively touring as he is on the quest for new sounds (‘the iron fence in front of the studio’, ‘the wooden door in the toilet’ among other samples), or building instruments from scratch with his pals (see Modular Organ System), Phillip Sollmann’s experimental zeal underscores a conceptual framework that reveals a collage of influences as broad as Basic Channel, Francis Bacon, Japan or the room he’s sitting in. This often amounts to smooth and genre-busting segues on Dial, Curle and Ostgut Ton. For Bassiani Podcast 120, the German neutoner challenges and surprises with an hour of osmotic and textural 4/4 techno, twilight arps and fidgety basslines. Efdemin at his very best.

He who’s become an absolute gem trader over the years through a string of epoch-making efforts, including the time-proof masterpiece that is “Decay” in 2014, drops by to grace us with a mesmeric Xmas tale by way of waving goodbye to 2022. Based in Berlin, he's not only a resident at the iconic Berghain club but also the curator of his vinyl-only label, naïf. His music is an embodiment of serenity and sophistication, characterized by an elegant darkness, subtle beauty, and a sense of unwavering composure. Efdemin's impressive discography spans LPs and 12-inch records on renowned labels like Dial, Curle, and Ostgut Ton. His versatility extends to remixes, including a memorable one for Depeche Mode, as well as his collaborative project Pigon with RNDM, and his exploration of drone and ambient soundscapes under his original name, Phillip Sollmann. 🎧

Stripped-back and highly cerebral, her style sits at the junction of heavily dubbed-out psychedelia, liquid abstraction and post-industrialism, and this mix doesn’t differ. DJ KSET, also known as Kaique, a.k.a. "the glitch in your algorithm," is the digital caveman of the decks. Armed with nothing but a football jersey, a dusty cassette soul, and a speaker named Alexa, KSET is mixing his way out of the jungle and into your brainwaves. His name? A cocktail of “K” from Kaique and the number 7 from his football days, sounding suspiciously like “cassette,” and, in Portuguese, hilariously close to cacete. Coincidence? Definitely not.

Expect imperfect perfection. KSET thrives in the "oops," the happy accidents, the glorious glitches. He doesn’t just blend songs, he splices them together like DNA strands to evolve a third beast entirely. He's still learning, still experimenting, but every beat is a raw and primal stomp forward.

Forget the VIP lounge. This is bedroom rebellion. Just KSET, his mixes, and Alexa (his only groupie… for now). Get ready for the rise of the EVO Apes.
