A tale of horror.

Having a little fun with my new Nord Stage 3 - all sounds except the percussion are native to the Stage 3 (synth and organ engine). No sequencers were used, but I did enjoy using the pitch stick.

Thinking a bit about a Black Swan event as I produced this, the 1st half representing life as usual, the event as a synth "solo" and the altered reality afterwards. Towards the end I was inspired somewhat by the soundtrack to Dunkirk as the planes harass the troops on the beach and I have to admit that Vangelis Chariots of Fire was on my mind throughout the track although I skipped adding any piano.

A black swan is an unpredictable event that is beyond what is normally expected of a situation and has potentially severe consequences. Black swan events are characterized by their extreme rarity, severe impact, and the widespread insistence they were obvious in hindsight. [according to Wikipedia]

We are approaching the end of our so-called "intelligent" civilisation.
After many discoveries that should have made us happy humans, we are now realizing with horror that we have overridden certain laws of nature!
Humans have mastered very high technologies, or so they think, and with this power they think they are equal to the very high, what great humility, even naivety.

Solstice Weather Report
 
These solstice eyes 
have learned to disagree
with the varnish and dies
of vain pleasantry

The ugly devices of self-serving goons
casting their angst ridden bases
only to float their ego-balloons
have erased all the sky's visual graces.

This Solstice skin
has learned to shy away
from the deceptively Thin
pvc overlay.

this discount-priced vortex of dime-store illusion
raises hope from the ground at it's gust front
only to soil soils with futile pollution
as it scatters it's load in the minds of those stunned.

These Solstice ears
have learned to listen in
to the grumblings of fears
in the voice therein

Bared. in the open, prone to transform
Buds turn to flower when graced by the soft rain
fears provide courage to transcend the norm
letting go and becoming are one and the same.

Based loosely on a 'vermin hunter' who i once ran across in county Clare. I've always been on the side of Mr Fox so we were not the best of friends.  
Here are four verses of the dozen or so that tell the tale.  I used a few garageband noises too.  

Down the muddy track, five kittens in a sack,
down to the river, empty handed back.
Every year it happens just the same,
who is this man, what is his name ?
It's Dreadlocks Moriarty, he's the cruelest man in town,
Dreadlocks Moriarty, he's going to put your kitten down.

Are there foxes in your henhouse, are there pigeons in the corn,
are there wabbits in your garden, are there badgers on the lawn ?
etc


They say he had a wife once and she got sick
so he beat her to death with a hurley stick.
Now she's buried in the mountains where the cold wind blows,
and the cattle die in the winter snow.
That's Dreadlocks Moriarty, his donkey;s all look sad,
Dreadlocks Moriarty, How did you ever come to be so bad.

Moriarty has a daughter, she's a comely lass
with a crucifix and a dancer's ass,
i tried to woo her once beneath the  rowan tree
but we were seen and now he's coming for me,
Dreadlocks Moriarty, how did a man ever go so wrong ?
Dreadlocks Moriarty, I'm going to kill you with a song.

Back to the river.... something has survived, it'a a half-drowned kitten and it's still alive,
i hold it to my breast and my beating heart,
i was looking for some friends and this is a start
