The California based artist SPANK LxVE (LOVE) is here with his debut mixtape "What Didn't Kill Me" By the title alone one could guess this isn't the typical "New West" style music that has the west coast bubbling once again. This mixtape is based on true stories of the rappers life. In his own words "My music is inspired mostly by pain. Pain from growing up being broke, struggling, fucking up in life, mishaps, being lost in this big world, feeling alone, being confused, trying to find myself, falling short of my religious beliefs I was raised on, being heart broken from choosing the wrong females to fall inlove with ect.. Ive been rapping for 14 years now, I started off doing the radio stuff, whatever was popular cars, clothes, bitches, money you know? & I got pretty far. I have no desire to make that kind of music any longer because it felt like a job pretending for so long. Now If I don't feel it or haven't experienced it, I don't rap about it. Music has become my therapy, my escape, it keeps me sane so that's why I continue to do it. If I can make money cool if not, fuck it. Its just another thing to live for"
