A month ago on eBay I stumbled upon a Speak & Spell unit that I've never heard of before (and neither did the Internets).
So even if it it was 'broken for parts' I instantly bought it knowing that I could at least dump the speech roms from it:

Sadly the first speech from (CD2319) is toast, so Its impossible to reconstruct the full vocabulary contained inside. However, the second rom (CD2320) dumped OK and I was able to salvage quite a few sounds from it. Here are a few of them.

Also, contrary to common belief, the vocal effect is almost certainly a Harmonizer with MIDI control - they did not use a vocoder as far as I know.
