Originally remastered for a rhythm game but that got cancelled, so...

I ate sand as a child and i think that affected me mentally ~True Remaster~

Yesterday, in the description for "Let's Fall In Love", I said that today's track wouldn't be as "syruppy sweet" and that it might even be about sex.  

Well, I don't think this song is about sex--maybe in a J.G. Ballard sort of way, but that wasn't the intention.  I'd simply forgotten that I've started a theme (and I know, I usually don't...and I don't always stick with them, but...it's working for the moment) of posting a track from when I was dropping music on Facebook, before switching to the daily drops I've been sharing here on SoundCloud, but to go back with fresh ears and Rethink, Remake, Remix those older tracks...  

So, on Mondays--at least for the time being--I will be sharing these Rethink Remake Remix versions of tracks--changed in ways to indicate some improvement in production skill since they were first posted, but also to comply with the mandates that I've set for myself for what I'm willing to post here on SoundCloud, that the Experiments posted on Facebook did not have to conform to.   

This was Experiment 5 (out of 130 Experiments posted on Facebook--there were also 9 variant mixes of some of those Experiments...and a Christmas bonus track.)  Now, if you've been following along, you'll know that this is the third RRR exclusive remix posted on SoundCloud, following Experiment 1 and Experiment 2.  What happened to Experiments 3 and 4?, you might wonder.  

Well, Experiment 3 has little to no salvageable parts--it was REALLY an experiment to see if, at that point in my FL Studio journey, I could make a track that sounded like it was made with acoustic instruments...it was basically a jam session--there's no song there to Rethink, Remake (?!?) or Remix.  Some Experiments are best left to history.  

And Experiment 4 is a moody sound poem--more suited for a Spooky Week than a Labor Day.  I also think it will be a challenge for it to meet the "must have a vocal element, no instrumentals".  There were a LOT of instrumental Experiments back then, so that is often the first place I start when opening up an Experiment's project and begin to rethink, remake, remix.  

I kept it simple and introduced a sample from the ceremonial start to the annual Indy 500 race, which I thought always happened on Labor Day, and would be serendipitous if it did,...but, instead, the race happens on Memorial Day--and this is why I don't commit to themes very often.    

On this experiment, made and posted in early 2023--at the time, I'd work on one track...post it...then begin the next.  I do things differently now.--I'd just discovered that FL Studio came with a bunch of samples!  I hadn't used samples in the first four Experiments (though I did use one in the video I made for Experiment 3--it wasn't actually part of the music made.  So, I went crazy for some risers and a couple of sweeps.  I regret nothing.  

I actually love the original version of Experiment 5, so I didn't change all that much.  I dropped some vocal samples in to bring it into compliance (barely) and I did notice that the track was rather thin--the same synth was used to play the lead AND the bass...and I hadn't realized the power of sub bass yet.  So, I did boost the low end and there are times where I've added a new deeper bass part--with two synthesizers at work just for that!  

I'm not sure it improves the song, though.  I think it does, but I also am an author who hates killing his babies (hopefully you'll get that reference and not think that I kill babies--I may not be great at music production, but I'm not a monster!)  

Is there more I could have done, to rethink, remake, remix this track?  Possibly. ;)
