@fadimohem is right at the heart of contemporary techno. He brings his own twist on the classic sound - deep, rhythmic and atmospheric. He's a Berghain resident whose first contact with the genre came at the hallowed club, and since then, he has blazed his own trail on the most influential labels in the scene, including his own Mohem imprint. This year, he plays twice at Dekmantel Festival, once as part of WSNWG Live and once on the Radar stage.

Ahead of that, he has put together an exclusive one-hour live set comprised only of unreleased music. It's a masterclass in control that embodies just what you get from Fadi in the club: deep techno planted firmly on the floor but always going somewhere. As dubbed out low ends, glitchy textures and more tripped out melodies come and go, the tension ramps up while both body and mind stay locked.

Throughout the years, Detroit-born Berlin-based groove operator and Tresor / Globus resident Eric Cloutier has been honing and refining his palette as both a producer and a DJ. Not one to engage in dogmatic restraint, Cloutier keeps developing his vision through carefully curated selections and an equally impeccable mixing technique. Boasting the variety and precision of his releases for his own imprint Palinoia, the present mix was recorded live at The Chinese Laundry in Sydney last year. Playing the main room open-to-close, Cloutier put together this mix as an evolving story and, much like the crowd of that night which proved highly receptive to the narrative, we hope this one will resonate with you. A most exquisitely complex and deep-diving plunge into Cloutier’s shape-shifting headspace, alternating heavyweight punch and dubbed-out minimalism with swashes of textured membranes and faux-organic, modular-like intricacies, this mix is as elusively impossible to pigeonhole as it proves sophisticated in its design.

If you know, you know: Mr. G is one of dance music’s true originals. From the early days in the legendary KCC crew and his influential work as half of The Advent, to decades of solo output under his own name, Colin McBean has never strayed from his roots. With releases on Rekids, Moods ‘n’ Grooves, Defected, and his own long-running Phoenix G imprint, his raw, bass-heavy electronic-tech-funk sound has moved floors and minds all over the world.

Now, for one of his rare mixtape appearances, we’re honored to share this special vinyl-only piece from his archive.

Recorded on two Technics 1210's and a Rane MP2015 mixer and mixed down to CD with added weight, the mix had been sleeping for years until Mr. G pressed play and surprised even himself. It’s meditative, deep, and packed with the personality you only get when the machines are running hot. It captures the raw energy, honesty, and unmistakable feel that only Mr. G can deliver: just pure groove, and even a cheeky cable cut halfway through that adds to the charm.

It’s not often he shares this side, so we’re grateful he let us dig it out. For us, it’s a perfect snapshot of where he comes from and what he still brings to the table today. A true original.

Batumi-born, Berlin-based DJ/Producer Nicole has been instrumental in the evolution of Tbilisi’s role as axis for music and politics. Her earliest ventures in sonic creation saw her attend music school as a child and drum in a band, followed by a pivot into electronic music as half of teenage duo Body Thrills. It was 2018 that she truly emerged solo as a talent to watch on the Georgian scene, with a Boiler Room performance at Bassiani to celebrate its reopening following civilian protests against the government’s shutdown of cultural spaces. And with the threat of authoritarian ideology looming once more, her kind of energy is perhaps more important than ever. Nicole’s sound represents the best of what Georgia has to offer, a free and open enthusiasm for life where creativity reigns and anything is possible. Witty minimal with a generous measure of acid squelches and positive funk, these tunes are a mirror to the dancefloors she plays on. Her strength is in knowing her audience, which strings to pull and when, and that’s just as true of her other work, which now counts promotion duties at Tbilisi space Cafe Gallery and an EP on Marco Shuttle’s Eerie Records. This latest episode carries Tbilisi’s flame forward, a six-hour compilation that brings together her unique perspective as native to the city’s struggle, and her disparate musical references.
